ARE YOU AN EARLY MINER?

It is possible to sit on a gold mine and not know it, same way it is possible to sit on a ticking time bomb completely unaware. I created my first Yahoomail in 2002 just a year after Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) was introduced into the Nigerian space alongside Telecommunications companies. As a teenager then, I could barely utilize the usefulness of my mail as I only used it to chat where as businesses was constantly done using the same very tool I was wielding.

Late 2005, I created my first Facebook account and went on a chatty spree. Uploading just about anything about my day's activity and well, maybe finding love too. So many failed relationship went under the bridge especially after my college graduation in 2006, I spent about a year at home waiting to gain admission into a tertiary institution during which I'd stay awake at night making free midnight calls for hours talking to a virtual friend in another state faraway that I had no meeting. Yet the infatuation was intense.

Again, while i was being lust struck with strangers many were growing their followership and online influence, creating brands and practically putting to good use the opportunities of socialism using the media on the very same platform I was sucking at. By the time I woke up in 2012 to what I could really do with my platform in Facebook I had graduated from the University of Ekpoma in Edo state Nigeria and now running a 1 year program as a photographer. Well I needed people to see my work as I commenced, the value of feedbacks was so greatly missing and then it dawned on me...the company I was training with had me hooked on the media. I was surfing the internet (Facebook as usual) when I saw an ad from the outfit and all they're offering so I researched further which saw me paying to be a protégé (the advert had its effect on me).

By this time the social media space was overwhelming to survive in. There were so many and keeping up was increasingly difficult as the algorithms were running on paid activities, some had to pay to increase their followers. While all this was happening, Facebook began to thrive on this "Notice me" epidemic plaguing the Web, everything and everyone was jostling for an online presence and would pay or do anything to get clout.

Still happening till date.

The thing now is that Web 2 is out living its purpose, centralization has been abused and turned to dictatorship (almost tyranny). Private data being farmed and sold to the highest bidders by dark cyber nerds, cybercrime on the rise as hacking became too cheap that a college student can intrude an account using nothing but a smartphone (happened many times in my presence). Accounts hijacked and sold to fraudsters needing reputable forms to launch their antics. Social media platforms themselves setting traps in the name of terms to scrap out long standing businesses when they violate without bearing the in mind the pain endured to gather and build such businesses.

Well, Web 3 is here.

Incidentally, social media and blockchain going hand in hand is the best thing for the next decade. While money is evolving from paper/bank money into blockchain and cryptocurrencies we all can truly own our accounts thanks to decentralization that hive.io is built on.

Truly devoid of loop holes that hackers can penetrate through (unless I manhandled my keys), my privacy and finances are secured. I need not fret for who is spying on me or the constant bank charges dwindling my finances that is supposed to be stored in my savings. The ultimately means I hold the steering wheel to direct my finances and promote my contents by diving into the pools of communities.

The good news is, if you're reading this now that means you have onboarded and even if you haven't peradventure you stumbled on this piece on Twitter or Facebook, you now have knowledge about Decentralization, Web 3.0, the new social media network and blockchain.

While Hive is still shaping up, I'd like to advice that we all take our presence here seriously and efficiently. The coming years would be tough, if Facebook that trades its billions of users on NASDAQ can get the much attention its getting at the moment imagine what would happen when the rest of the world wakes up to HIVE and its full potentials. I barely knew shit about Blockchain, Bitcoin was a generic name and I had stereotyped all crypto to be like bitcoin but thanks to Hive.io I am a crypto owner and I'm pushing further to become a certified trader with all the information embedded in the blockchain.

You too can be anything and everything in this world, and hive might just be your ticket. Decentralization means no strings attached which means you ain't someone's puppet. Here you can express freely your innate imagination as an artist or as an activist and still earn and grow your finances.

I choose to thrive with Hive. What about you?

The future is now. I don't pull regrets anymore for missing out on Bitcoin and Ethereum any longer because I have been given a better chance at hive. Yes, web 2.0 has been a major problem for people who are deep into this stuffs. For most people out there, I am sure they have no clue what Web 3.0 is all about and they keep on exploring in the centralized media.

Well, I believe sooner, the world will fully be shifted to the age of the decade - Web 3.0

This is the dream, that the world would wake up to a decentralized Web but the thing is those of us already onboard how well are we utilizing the very vast space of hornets nectar. Are we mining the full potentials of the hive protocol, or are we barely keeping our heads above the waters for fear of sinking.

Hive is an ocean how many of us are living it up?

Good question for the hive community. But if you ask me, so far so good, I think we are doing well here on this block chain. From the developers down to the promoters. One step at a time ⌚
