The Ruins | Negros Occidental City Philippines
The Ruins in Talisay Negros Occidental Philippines. This mansion was built by the wealthy man baron Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson for his memory of his Portuguese wife Maria Braga Lacson, who died during the birth of their eleventh child. During World War 2, Filipino guerillas burned it down as a countermeasure to prevent the invading Japanese forces from using it as a military office. It burned for 3 straight days.
So then this place know as today the "Taj Mahal of Talisay", "Taj Mahal of Negros" and "Taj Mahal of the Philippines", the great-grandchildren of Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson and Cora Maria Osorio Rosa-Braga is now the private owner of this mansion. They have preserved it in its ruined state and operational farmland, as a tourist attraction that can be visited for a fee, before when I visited there i payed for 50 pesos or 1$ dollar, and this place is open for any events such as wedding, anniversary, birthday etc. Its open to daily for visitors too.
