Another great @wiseagent initiative this week.
It starts again and this time it's the review of a Guilty Pleasure.
https://peakd.com/hive-148441/@wiseagent/league-of-movies-hive-writing-contest-second-edition-or-week-01-guilty-pleasures
What's that?
Pretty hated movies, destroyed by critics, but you liked them. The fact that others hate them pushes you not to confess your love for that specific film.
As soon as I read about the challenge, I immediately understood which film I was going to talk about:

ARMAGEDDON

Directed by Michael Bay, star cast with Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck and Liv Tyler to stand out, but also nominated for 7 Razzie Awards, the awards for the worst film of the year, worst film performance of the year.
Personally, I've always been very fond of this film. So much so that I've seen it three times.

If this isn't a Guilty Pleasure what could it be?

Like almost every Michael Bay movie, this is an apocalyptic film.
The earth is in danger of being hit by a meteorite and the world is in danger of near extinction.
To save everyone's skin is taken care of by NASA, which recruits a series of drillers to take into space to "defuse" the meteorite.
It's a bit funny as a plot I know, it's no coincidence that it deserved 7 nominations at the Razzie Awards!

The film certainly deserves all the criticism received but I do not know why it excites.
It's a 1998 movie, the age was the adolescent one for me, the film culture was still scarce.
The music of Aerosmith, the liveliness of Steve Buscemi and the drama of the mission did the rest.
And then there was a beautiful and very sweet Liv Tyler who didn't play an irrelevant role.
Armageddon was therefore a sin of youth that I proudly claim. I was amused by the light moments in the film, I was very moved by the final scenes, the sacrifice of the men who came from the earth, the interactions between the protagonists.
Pleasant, dramatic and light.
Hurt, improbable, scripted with feet?
Yes, absolutely yes, but still my timeless Guilty Pleasure.

https://peakd.com/hive-148441/@wiseagent/league-of-movies-hive-writing-contest-second-edition-or-week-01-guilty-pleasures

Piacevole, drammatico e leggero.
Fatto male, improbabile, sceneggiato coi piedi?

This movie excites me too.
The film I like least about the director is transformers. All the others he's made, I've enjoyed.

This is one of the most famous guilty pleasures worldwide, but I like some work by Michael Bay (including this one).

Great pic for this round and good luck in the contest, @serialfiller.

I can say, Armageddon was the first film I watched, the first time watching it when I was in elementary school, not understanding anything just taking its excitement.

I didn't like movies before. Especially foreign films, my eyes tired of reading the text that appears on the screen.

But when I grew up, I watched it several times again, either intentionally or by chance airing on television. This film is very memorable. Some cool quotes that I found from this film are:

"Drilling isn't a science, it is an art."

"I am only the best because I work with the best, You don't trust the man you're working with, you are as good as dead."

There were several epic scenes to add to the drama of this film. Father's conflict that disagrees with the girl who loves one of Harry's crew, the family conflict of Chick (Will Patton), the heroic attitude, the struggle for opinion with the central government, and others. But there are also many moral messages that can be learned namely the sincere love of the father, trust in the team, a strong sense of family, and friendship. excited movies.

I only saw this movie once, and I remember having a nice and entertaining time watching. I did not know that it was considered a bad movie by most people, I know that it is not Taxi Driver, but I do not think it is a disaster either, it is very entertaining. Good review. You will have my vote. Cheers!
