graffiti, no graffiti (wednesday walk in the local yard)

Seems I was skipping the #wednesdaywalk challenge for a whole month. heh. didnt wanted to post anything old from my archives, and didnt want to go out with camera due to a gloomy weather..

Today in the morning I took my daughter to school, and despite the fact that the light outside the window did not tempted me, I took a camera with me and took two dozen pictures (at least, there was no rain!)

Ten minutes of photographing -- and later two hours of editing. Here we go, modern photographer as he is.

Noticed first snowdrops today.

My attempt to take down a pic of a stranger blindly.. well, I failed. But the composition made 'on the fly' is ideal, isnt it?

Two pigeons refused to pose me. "Use telephoto, or you failed" -- I failed.. but still milked out some colour impressions out of the frame.

Basically all those shots were made in the same yard within 20 metres. This location has a long wall of garages, backside is used pretty much by the graffity art masters. Every time I walk by I thought it is worth shooting... Eventually today I did it. So, now the graffity part.

Some photographers use to say, a good photo even dont need a title... and I hope these shots are self-explanatory and dont need much comments: the graffiti deleted / masked with white or grey paint that supposed to make the wall look 'like it was before'. Well.. I cant say that I always love any graffity. Some are quite silly and made without any taste... But these masked areas I definitely like even less, as they look more ugly and more silly (to me). What about you?

These fragments are such a teasers!! they hint something good is hidden under. Something far, far better then plain white lime.

Do you know what the 'Palimpsest' thing is? (Originally: its a manuscript or piece of writing material on which later writing has been superimposed on effaced earlier writing). Now this graffiti becomes a modern palimpsest... These huge clean white painted areas are like shits of paper, they irresistibly attract new artists.

This is Feathered Friends appreciation part. Another bird's feeder made from the milk package.

at the crop version of the frame above you see clearly, its a silkscreened gasmask.. gives me some joyful Metro and Fallout associacions, for me its always a pleasure to have such a find at the streets.

THis graffity has a huge title painted in blue 'Zdorovo i Vechno' -- it is the name of an LP back from 1987, by the excellent Russian punk band Gr.Ob. Здорово и Вечно!

To me, these graffiti-hiding blocks look like a piece of art. What will you say, my dear friends? (Ofc in case you actually read what I put out here, after upvoting my posts... )

Definitely this thick grey wall could be far better having something, then not having anything... uh...
