BLM protest allowed, but anti-lockdown protest gets slammed in The Netherlands

Two different measures

Remember all the Black Lives Matter protest all over the world the last few weeks? Well, in some countries, the are still going on. Like in The Netherlands, on Saturday there was another protest that was allowed in The Hague. Nothing wrong with that, everybody has the right to protest and to shout out their opinion. At least, most are, because on Sunday, at the same spot in The Hague, a protest against the measures to "counter" the spread of the corona virus was slammed by the police. This happened by order of the mayor of The Hague. Very weird and sad at the same time. Because democracy and freedom of speech once again got under mined.

Protest against the 1.5 meter society

This was the main upset of this mostly silent protest. A celebration of freedom. The protesters demand an immediate lift of the so called 1.5 meter society and all other measures that are taken by the government to prevent the spread of the corona virus. But first the protest wasn't allowed, then it suddenly was, and after an hour the police started to use the water canon and slammed people with sticks to get them away from the field they were on to protest. There was no clear reason why the people had to leave, but the actions of the police were not really peaceful and in big contrast to what happened the day before.

Sad, that these days, a true freedom of speech does not exist anymore. We have to stand up to this, this is not right. These people need to do this again and again and again... Until they are truely heard, and not blasted away by a violent police force.

Sincerely,

I don't understand how is it possible that in almost every country in the world these absurdities to be enforced. Isn't any world leader to realize that it's all bullshit. Shouldn't we decide after all if we want to protect our health or not... I would expect that from my corrupt country but from others like Germany and Netherlands I am so amazed to see that they commit such abuses against their citizens. I wonder for how long will people have patience with these measures.

I know, especially the way people just take it all in without revolt, surprises me. But it is growing, slowly!
