Apparently, my country doesn't want to get out of this Covid crisis

Israël

Today, in less than one month of vaccinating, 20 % of the population of Israël is vaccinated. In Belgium, we started vaccinating on the 27th of December, on the 7th of January, 8000 people got their jab against Covid-19. At this rate, we will probably reach herd immunity in the year 3030. Not that I am so fond of this experimental vaccine, but it seems to be the only way to get out of this mess.

Incompetence

But here in Belgium, it just seems like we don't want to economy to open up again, at least the government doesn't. What a load of crap, 17 different commissions and firms have their say about how and when, and eventually nothing happens. We have 9 ministers that are responsible on the field of health, but nothing happens. They just keep talking and talking. In the meanwhile, hair salons, pubs, restaurants, hotels,... they all have to remain closed. And even worse we still can't meet more than one extra person in our homes. Or we risk a fine of 750,00 EUR per person. Incredible. Never ever in my life have I watched such incompetence by our leaders. Right now, the schedule is like this, by September all people above the age of 18 should have had their chance to get the vaccine. Luckily it is not mandatory, but if Israël can administer the jabs at such speed, this should be possible here too. So we can get on with our lives.

Sincerely,
