Friedrich Wilhelm Zachow, O Lamm Gottes unschuldig, LV 40

avatar

Zachow wrote a nice three part chorale prelude to "O Lamm Gottes unschuldig". The chorale melody is in the upper voice, while the other two voices play an accompaniment in eigth notes. It is a great example to study for anyone who whishes to learn how to write a simple chorale prelude, based on an harmonisation of the chorale melody.

The recording was done with the Hauptwerk software and the sampleset, made by Sonus Paradisi, of the Schittger organ in the St. Martini-kerk, Groningen (http://www.sonusparadisi.cz/en/organs/netherlands/groningen-st-martini.html).

I have recorded this and will upload soon (my Patrons see my videos first). I finally got to try the St Augustine’s sample set!

St Augustine is a rather old sample set, is it not? Or there another one that the one from Nick Appleton?

Oh sorry. I meant the Aeolian Skinner organ.

Ah, of course. Should have guessed. Should be interesting, Zachow on a Skinner versus on a Schnittger!
