Survival in life's storms!

A stunning show here about survival and beauty!

Yayh, they have all made it and were out in force early this morning to fill their little stomachs as quickly as possible.
Last night's howling winds were once again responsible for much damage according to our news today and we also have to replace our carport's roof.
But the animals made it and we are happy!

008.JPG

This above is what we would call "A Hard Day's Night!
For the youngsters "A Hard Day's Night" is a song by a band called "The Beatles"!

035.JPG

Here above you can see the shy little brother to the left. He normally stays up in the palm tree, but not in these winds. His little sister is at the right burying a nut lol.

Due to the rain and heavy cold I could only take photos through the windows of our study!

055.JPG

Are the ringneck doves here discussing how they are going to eat the potplant? hahaha.
We have about 20 of them here at our home.(Doves, not potplants lol)!

054.JPG

The doves are also expert nut stealers hahaha!

Right, lets have a look at the weather!

028.JPG

Very wet to have a look at the sky here above early morning!

441.JPG

Now we saw a bit of the late afternoon sun peeping out of a break in the clouds!
This was my second nip out of the house on the day!

467.JPG

The mountains stood as rockfast as ever during the storm!

609.JPG

Late sun about to disappear and it leaves a defiant color to the clouds, warning the storm that tomorrow it will be back to fight with the dark clouds again!

Just so it is with us and our problems (storms) in life isn't it?
At times we emerge after a dire period just as bedraggled as that dove in the second picture.
But by grace we are all natural survivors and this is what makes life so interesting. At least it should be interesting as the stark upsets in life shape our endurance and our emotions to survive!

In life we always struggle and strive to lead a perfect and happy life. Mountains of cash, beautiful partners, or anything else that we perceive will bring us happiness.
Well, life does not work like at all and happiness runs along with its cousins anxiety, despair and dissapointment.
Only once we truly understand this can we start to build ourselves up like an Ark to float on life's waters.

And That's All Folks!

The carport's roof is replaceable, but not your lifes, so take care, not only in the storm 🙂

Just heard good news. Raining overnight, but major winds are slowly leaving and by 2pm tomorrow afternoon only cloud. Wednesday 16C and no clouds.

The laws in this province are weird. If I want to replace the carport roof with solid metal sheets, then I have to have a plan drawn and submit it to the municipalty for clearance.
But it's an existing roof that is covered in shadecloth and I only want to rplace the cloth with sheets???
So we are talking a lot of money here for an architect to draw the plan and fees for the municipality to clear it.

But I will make another plan.

Regarding the virus storm, we have stopped all operations and are sitting here at home for the next few days Sir Johann.
I have given instructions for the feeders to build up stock in the meantime.
Our trauma courses will also not be presented in the meantime until the end of the year. Then we will reasess the situation.

Thank you for the kind care and you guys also take care my friend.

Cheers and thanks!

Good morning @papilloncharity,

these are good news, so your weather will change and should become nice in the next days 🙂

I don't know if you have to make such a plan here if you only want to replace an existing roof, but I don't think so. When my parents have renewed the roof of their house they have just done it ;)
I think that's just one more way to make money.

That's a weird situation you are in, but it's good that you take care of you and the others.

Greetings and salutations Sir @johannpiber

Rain seems to have stopped now at 12 noon.
Had a contractor here this morning to look at a damp wall and we will fix it in November when the raining season stops.
The rule is that all permanent fixtures require plans and applications, so when a solid roof is placed on the carport, it becomes a permanent fixture.
So I am planning to place a green, waterproof canvas, such as they use to make tents, over the roof.
Will see how it goes.

A weird situation here indeed and our first, so we have to invent problem solutions on the go.
But we are getting there and just have try to control the uncontrollable lol.

Cheers and thanks!

So you can't say there was a solid roof on the carport before, but the storm has destroyed it and not you just repair it and make it better than before? 🤥

Control the uncontrollable - sounds funny, but I think that's part of the next future.

No Sir Johann, I cannot do that, as it would not be right and as big a sinner as I am, I have to keep things straight and honest. Yeah, it has cost me a lot in the past, as many times I could have taken the easy road, but there are many traps on that road, so I rather walk on the narrow and difficult road.
That's also why we have never bought a vote from any bots and the 1 share that we have in SBI was donated to us.

So @papilloncharity has run the the steemit and now the hive road the hard way lol.
I am sure that your road is the same as ours!

Yeah, when I wrote it, I thought it was a crazy expression, but due to covid it just made sense to me.
Sort of like a "cause and effect" reaction.

Cheers and thanks!

I was expecting this reply and I have to admit that I bought votes on Steemit in my first months and I still have SBI. Buying votes was wrong, but the SBI were given to me and I see them as an Investment - I have invested in a company and get something in return.

So, that was it for me today, I have to go and wish you a good night 😀

Good morning Sir Johann and I hope that you have a good day.

I have no issue regarding the purchasing of votes when it was still offered, as many of our friends here did the same. That is why respect is so important and we just chose, or were led differently, as our money base was very small at the time. So there is no issues that I have about it.

I was rather trying to explain the difficult road that we walk, bur I am sure, like you that we will all win in the end.

Hope that your night turned out to be good!

Cheers and thanks!

Hey how is it going there in the Cape of Storms lol?
I am amazed at how much response in comments you receive on each of your posts. I manage 1 or 2 comments if that on each post. You must be doing something right, or curating and commenting a lot yourself. Any advice?

And the lockdown has ceased your activities to a degree as well then, like most of us. And the virus cases are only peaking now in SA apparently, with winter here presumably.

Endurance is the name of the game in the storms here my friend.

My philosophy is that it's all about perceptions.
Quality content is subjective and I stick to the middleground of nature to get my messages across.
I have an average in all that I do, be it curation, commenting or whatever and I also reflect my inner self in my posts. Too many moans and groans will only interest a small number of people and light and love is what the majority like.
Of course my faith is also very strong and I stay honest and open all of the time.

Opinions are ten for a penny on hive and at times can illicit arguments and dislike.
But then again, opinions come from the mind and not from the heart.
People like to read stuff that also happen to them and I draw many comments with my silly, but always kind, stories at times.
Hope that this will be of help to you!

Regarding the lockdown, yes, we have to implement problem solving methods as we go along under the constraints and the way that we see people walking around here without masks, makes me think that the virus will be with us for a long time.

Cheers and take care!

Hey there thanks for your tips on keeping a good middle way with your output. You are correct that the mind accepts positive information more readily, so it helps to push the positive angle in our posts, and keep the perception on the glass half full, so to speak.

You know, I used to hate the term "middle of the road" music, but sadly that's the way to go in search of general support.
What I am trying to do from the positive angle is to lure people away from what they call "Doom Scrolling" as continued bad news result in severe negativity, with bad health connotations.
