He is making a Pit Stop Lol

Certainly something to talk about here about this unusual art piece hahaha!

After our long drive along the coast guess where we stopped?
Oh yes, we stopped at a place called the Pit Stop. For those that do not know what Pit Stop means, it is term normally applicable to sportscar racing, when the racers have to stop for a tire change and a refuel.
Over here we use the term as slang for going to the toilet. I took the photo above at a flea market yesterday and the idea popped up to marry it to today's post about a roadside restaurant called the Pit Stop.
Join us for a cup of coffee!

IMG_5692 (2).JPG

A building nestled at the side of the road between the mountain and the ocean!

IMG_5697 (2).JPG

Two very old gas pumps man the front entrance doors of the place!

IMG_5703.JPG

Did I tell you that the restaurant is called the Pit Stop?

IMG_5705.JPG

This is the impressive entrance area and I loved that Jaguar front end serving as a table!

IMG_5711.JPG

Friendly staff welcomed us and as I looked out the glass doors at the back, something caught my eye!

IMG_5724.JPG

This is the scenic rear end of the restaurant and my attention was drawn to the little car at the left of the picture!

IMG_5712 (2).JPG

A little Austin and her name is "Annie". Her traveling days are over and she now serves as a play car for the children of customers!

IMG_5714 (2).JPG

You can see that "Annie" has grown to a ripe old age and I bet that she has many stories to tell!
One can only wonder about the people that Annie conveyed and how many roads she has traveled!

IMG_5717.JPG

As you can see here, "Annie" is old and tired!

IMG_5727.JPG

Luckily my wife didn't see these signs before she went to the toilet hahaha!

IMG_5707 (2).JPG

We once had these old freezers in all of the smaller shops!

IMG_5694 (2).JPG

Now here is a very clever idea for clients to keep warm during the cold winter months!
Old oil drums that were converted into external fireplaces and I imagine these would release a lot of heat once a fire is made inside it!

IMG_5695 (2).JPG

Not a good idea to sit close to the smoke outlet at the top though Lol.

IMG_6044.JPG

And finally it seems that Rover will forever be on a Pit Stop Lol.

And That's All Folks!

Maybe I could raise a smile, or a memory here and there today with this post, as everyone is too serious lately.
Life is filled with problems that keep most of us almost on a permanent guard, but there are also many lighter moments in life to grasp and to enjoy. The delightful and innocent laughter of a little 2 year old child reminds me what we are missing every time that I hear it. We are all here on steemit for different reasons, but we can all of us also have one common concern and that is to have fun.

Yes, undeniably there are many serious moments and considerations, but, there is always a but isn't there?
Laughter will free our creativity and that's the reason why I elected to post the pit stop dog today, as I bet many of you have never seen an art piece like that before. Life will urinate on us every chance that it can get, and human scorpions and snakes are in abundance, but what does a little 2 year old care about that? Just so, I believe that innocence and honesty will always cultivate the true talents within and that lacking these qualities, life will always remain to be a burden.
What goes around comes around!

This place looks just like the type of rest stop you would enjoy. Old cars and car stuff and friendly people, surrounded by beautiful scenery.

Also, that dog statue is hilarious..

Thank you kindly my friend, as I presume that the C2 is from you?
We were tired and the wind was sniping, but we will certainly go there again.
I am not a restaurant reviewer, but will get shots of the menus and other stuff.
I was so surprised by that dog Lol.
Blessings!

It's always great to find interesting places in the middle of nowhere.

I don't represent C2 in any capacity and all my curation is personal. I do vote their witness just because I think more curators need to be witnesses. That said, I think it is well deserved, whoever decided it.

Aw man, you got me on that dog, but those old cars are somethign else! They sort of remind me of my grandfather's old vehicles that he'd somehow keep running until the sides fell off. (maybe an exageration, but not by much!)

Hahaha, about that dog my friend, we were laughing all of the way as we walked past it. I learned to drive on the farm in an old Dodge truck with no doors and no windscreen hahaha. I was about 13 at the time.
The old people certainly knew how to keep things going Lol

That’s quite the statue of the dog having a pit stop. Lol.

I wouldn’t have gone anywhere near if I saw that beware of snake sign.

Hahaha, Rover was indeed a very a very funny sight Lady Jo.
I showed Marian the sign afterwards and had to dodge a swipe at my head Lol.
A snakebite or a scorpion sting on the bum would make for months of uncomfortable seating methinks Lol

I’d pee my pants before going into that toilet! 😂 Heck if I saw a snake, much less have it bite me, it frightens me. Nuts I know.

Dog humour in art permanently makes visitors smile awhile. Neat little place for a pit-stop with old relics part of the decor making it homely.

My oldest brothers first car was exactly that the old Austin with a crank wheel handle on the front bumper to kick-start when she was being stubborn.

Would be nice to have a special place to put a crank wheel handle to some people when they.... well you get my drift!

Have an amazing new week Stephen.

It was indeed a great little place for a stop over.

Hey I thought that Austin was before your time! lol...I think it's really cool that they have it there for a play car. The body is in pretty good shape for an old girl!

Hahaha, Austin, Borgward, Plymouth, Prefect, DKW, Galaxy, Fairlane, I remember them all and many others my friend.
I also like the idea of her coming to rest in a playpark for children.
Blessings!
