Come walk with me! See beautiful colors!

That's our "Harry" up there greeting the early morning sun!

Harry will be down for breakfast later that I will show you, but first I have decided to show you a range of beautiful winter colors on our walk. Not your ordinary colors, as each photo has some life in it.

This post is also an entry in the #wednesdaywalk challenge hosted by @tattoodjay and partnered by @lizacheng with the #makemesmile challenge!

Did I tell you that I start my walks very early in the mornings?
Here we have the sun clearing the mountains!

Almost didn't see the Red-collared Sunbird in this Ribbon bush, but he moved and I clicked Lol.

Another week and the Palm tree's fruits will all be finished.
Thankfully I was able to snap a few bird species such as this Cape White-eye in the Palm over the time!

IMG_5664.JPG

A second Red-collared Sunbird (Male) up in another tree that is shedding its leaves!

IMG_5737.JPG

I thought that this "Cabbage" butterfly will add some lovely color to the post, sitting on that white flower!

IMG_5645 (1).JPG

This is a young Red-collared Sunbird, as you can see that his metallic green coat is spotty, not fully developed yet!

Okay, now here we return to "Harry" the wild Egyptian Goose coming in for breakfast. Sally, his wife is not with, as she spends her days on the nest. She only comes in the late afternoon to have supper and a bath.

IMG_6870.JPG

Yep, this old guy knows how to do an expert landing. He is used to it, as they were here last winter season as well and when Spring arrives, Harry and Sally take off for the Bahama's, leaving their new brood behind hahaha.

I can imagine if we as human families were to do this. Obviously it will take us a while longer to teach the kids how to feed themselves, but once they can, we simply load our bags and take off on a luxurious holiday until we want to make another baby Lol.

IMG_6846.JPG

Very cloudy here these last days and some beautiful cloud scenes that I will do a post about sometime.
For now I thought that this sun halo would fit in well here!

IMG_6928.JPG

Finally, you can see the winds plying the clouds across the mountain ranges.

I managed to find the article that related the damages to the rainforests on our planet and I made a mistake yesterday when I said that a football size of rainforest is destroyed every 6 hours.
In fact it is destroyed every 6 minutes.

Imagine the damages that we are causing and then ask yourself why we are having all of these new sudden mishaps.

Here's the link to the article. Source

Beautiful photography @papilloncharity, especially that sun halo! How scary are the stats about the rain forests! Sad what man is doing to the planet, I wonder if that at least came to a halt during the pandemic?

Thank you Lady Lizelle, I was targeting a Jackal Buzzard that came over high up, and quick snapped the halo.
I got the Buzzard as well, but not too well as he was moving fast and high.
They continue to strip even during covid my friend and they will always find an excuse for stripping.
Sickening!

Here's the Buzzard!

Harry is indeed a great guy and you must see how he protects Sally.
A real gentleman.
Thank you for the visit my dear friend.
Blessings and take care!

Not much doing yesterday except weekly shop for groceries, queues everywhere with SASSA payout days, no fun no comment....

Raping the land does not appear to bother most, take what they want till the next catastrophe Stephen.

Hahaha, we have renamed Wednesday as Monday Lady Joan, all of the other days are Friday lol. So sad to see all of those old people forced to stand in queues. Close to each other and so many not wearing masks.
We don't go out on a Wednesday!

Fully understand the masks during this time, never enjoyed people close to my proximity, so keeping distance is not a problem. Would be nice if people learned to give each other 'breathing space', doubt much will change.

No, I also don't think that in the respectable distance market much will change. We are of the same mind regarding proximities, as your space is your space.
Managed to get out again today Lol.
Have a good weekend my friend!

Each time I see your photos I miss being in the tropics, where there was less concrete and far more birds!

I was born on a farm my friend. My parents divorced when I was small and my mom took us to a city, but I always had the farm in my soul.
After a very long time, lady peace smiled upon me and relocated us here. So as it all started, so it will end!
Thank you for the visit and have yourself a good weekend!
