Our Friend the Wild (yet tame) Squirrel

Our Little Friend

So lately we've been going out and going for walks in the woods through various trails nearby. There is a particular open field where this special little squirrel is always hanging around. He is easy to recognize because he moves in a very specific, erratic manner.

Sniffing around for some food scraps

I've had wild critters get close to me before, but not like this little guy. I think I may have posted a picture of him from about 6 months ago similarly getting close to us. But at that time, he wasn't getting quite so close. He was behaving even more strangely back then, doing backflips. I thought perhaps he was mentally challenged or something, but I guess he was just playing.

I managed to get a bit of video this time. He was trying to climb on @little-ricky and @afturner wasn't very happy about it so I had to chase him back a bit. But it was nice to have him come up so close and trust us. These days you don't get many experiences like this, especially with the way that people treat animals.

My guess is that he's never been treated poorly by others passing by, and perhaps given a snack here and there. I just hope that he doesn't run into any really mean kids because they could easily hurt him. In fact, I am pretty sure that if I put a nut on my shoulder, he would climb right up my body to get it.

Other Oddities in the Woods

We also came by this interesting piece of... art?

I wonder what magical creature lives here?

I didn't want to disturb the gnomes, so I just took a few photos and moved on. It must have been made very recently because it wasn't there the last time we walked down this trail. I love the little ladder!

It has been great getting out a bit more this week. @afturner and I both have gotten our first Pfizer Covid shots, and are looking forward to getting the second one in a couple of weeks. I can't wait to feel a bit safer going out and visiting some friends again. It's been a very long year and some months.

Finally, that light at the end of the tunnel is coming closer!

That is great that you were able to get your shots. My wife and I were lucky enough to get ours a month or so ago. That is a pretty cool little scene that someone created there. Our dog always spots the squirrels before us when we are out on our walks!

Yeah, we finally got our first shots... holy hell though, my should was super sore for about 3 days. It is finally feeling better. Not looking forward to the second one, but will be glad to get it done.

I had the same reaction to the first shot. Couldn't sleep on my side for a couple of days. Make sure you pick up some Gatorade and hydrate before and after the second shot. I got chills and fogginess after that one for about 24 hours.

Yeah, my wife just got her second shot this morning. She's been feeling pretty crappy all day. I'll have to remember that...

I'm really pleased to see that you like Squirrels Rick (many Americans consider they vermin). ~ Personally, I think they are lovely here in England ~ The "red color" ones are slightly smaller but quite rare (some live in Scotland I think). The common "Grey Squirrels" (being bigger) over-run the red ones which is why they are more dominant !

On a side note: I notice you are using the POB hash tag, something that I'm moving more into (2nd Layer Token). I see a great future with POB CINE & VIBES. All 3 Tokens are soon to be added to the INDEX Token rewards (which is very cool 😎).

Sending !LUV + !PIZZA to you , Amanda & little Ricky √
Stay safe my friend 👍

I noticed that the squirrels in the UK are much smaller than the ones you see around here... At least the ones were that I saw. But I could be wrong. One thing for sure though, the British deer are tiny! Very cute, for sure.

And yes, I love squirrels! I know what you mean. A lot of people HATE them. I don't really get it. I suppose they can do damage to people's homes, like get inside and nest in the roof.

Sorry, you're out of LUV tokens to be sent today. Try tomorrow. (Having at least 10 LUV in your wallet allows you to freely give 3 per day.)
