Boat Harbor + Ski Resort

Since the country is in lockdown for the next four weeks effective tomorrow, I won't be leaving home except for going to the supermarket to shop for food, I decided to visit Messilä ski resort, boat harbor and camping ground after I had taken my daughter to school.

I took photos of the camping ground and the boat harbor first, after which I went to the ski resort to take a few pictures from there.

There were hundreds of caravans in the area. This was just one section. The ski lifts weren't operating. I wonder what all those caravans are doing here. The cross-cross country skiing trails are all snow-free as they have been for the whole winter.

Lots of boats, too. This one had a solar panel attached to it.

No snow but the recent cold weather has caused all the large lakes to freeze over. At least I consider that too weak for me to walk on. But I did see an ice fisher a week or so ago.

The beach. The island on the left is the same one you may have seen in many of my photos taken at the boat harbor in the city. It's about five kilometers to the north of the boat harbor of the city but only a couple of kilometers from here.

I drove up to the ski resort on the other side of the road.

When I was parking my car I noticed this abandoned toboggan. This is essentially what this exceptionally warm winter has been about.

The is the main building of Messilä manor. There is a restaurant in it.

The sign says "used ski rental equipment for sale". Is this resort in trouble? It was closed now despite the pistes being in perfect condition.

You can see the camping ground and the beach by the lakeside. The snow conditions seem to be fine. But the place was closed. Perhaps it's normally open only during weekends. But because of the epidemic it may not be.
