Durante esta cuarentena por causa del Covid-19, hemos tenido que hacer tareas escolares en casa y me gustaría compartir un tema interesante que estudie junto a mi hija en una de sus tareas.

Se trata de un bloque de actividades asignado por la escuela que trata un tema delicado, habla sobre el combate al trabajo infantil. El trabajo infantil es cuando niños son obligados a trabajar haciendo lo que debería hacer un adulto, en vez de dedicar su tiempo a ser un niño.

Me llamó la atención que la escuela dedicará ese espacio para enseñarle a los niños sus derechos. En el mundo abunda la explotación infantil y aquí en Brasil es un problema social muy grave.

El texto que mi hija debia analizar decía que el trabajo infantil es un crimen y muchos niños en el mundo sufren de explotación, trabajando en industrias y plantaciones, inclusive hablan del trabajo doméstico pesado. Muchas veces siendo obligados por sus propios familiares a salir de casa a trabajar en lugares donde corre peligro su vida. Son expuestos a violencia moral, física y sexual.

Existe una campaña mundial contra el trabajo infantil. El día 12 de Junio fue el día del combate al trabajo infantil destacando que el lugar de los niños es en la escuela. Los niños deben estudiar y jugar. Esa es su única obligación.

La última parte de la tarea consistía en construir una veleta de viento, que es el símbolo mundial del respeto a los niños.

Las instrucciones están aquí en esta foto de la guia de tarea para la casa, pero esta en portugués así que les voy a traducir lo que dice:

• Recortar un cuadrado como en el modelo de al lado
• Recorte la línea trazada
• Toma la punta del triángulo y lleve hasta el medio del cuadrado sin doblar
• Fijar en el medio con pega y haga eso alternadamente en cada punta del triángulo
• Ahora fija en el medio con un alfiler la veleta de viento a un palito de helado
• Si quieres pintar las partes que están en blanco lo puedes hacer
