Hopes

For a future that was never given
For all that you never should have done but did and remain unforgiven

For everything that you had sworn to forever remember
But then burned it all down because it was a cold December

You had hope and found the strength to carry on and proceed
That very same day you took charge of your thoughts and those needs

That weren't yours, now you can see there's always hope in the end
For all those who have forgotten I sit tight and grab a pen

Just to remind you of the hopes that helped you make it this far
Turned all your fears into songs which you have learnt off by heart

Providing light just enough to guide your life through the night
Magic and might, the stuff heroes are made of, the time is right

The time we saw the same vision and decided to fly
And lived to win another war, heroes of magic and might

We were given another life to try again and decide
If that's the world we'd like to leave behind the day that we die

Take action.

Or accept your destiny.

Responsibility

You are the only one at fault for all those things you can't stand in your life. I know, maybe the hand you were dealt is not that good. If that's the case though, why haven't you folded it yet? You are not a tree, so don't live your life like one. If you can't thrive in the place you find yourself in, stand up and walk. Move far away and never look back. Never return.

They say it's a magic world we live in, so make sure you don't lock yourself up in the cellar. Be part of the show, don't just spectate. Decide, act and shape the outcome. Don't just speculate. Imagine being in a room with a much younger version of yourself, the kid you used to be. Now tell me, would that kid be proud of the individual you have grown to be?

Tough question, and I don't like the answer when I ask myself this one. I'm a completely different individual now, with different priorities and needs. I'm pretty sure I've already let down the kid I used to be with the way I choose to spend my time and live my life. I've fallen in the trap and become too materialistic.

I hope one day I will be able to wake up and get out of bed as a kid again. With nothing to worry about. No work to get done, no business meetings to attend, no bills to pay. That will be the very same day I will stop worrying about what the younger me thinks about the way I manage the precious time I was given on this planet.
