It was a very hot September day, but full of pleasant surprises. Let’s see how it started…

Almost at the very beginning, a meeting with a good friend, our member @dragannenadic, the man who is most responsible for those beautiful reports from the caves of eastern Serbia. Let’s see what he is interested in today at the flea market. Is he going to perform?

Готово на самом почетку, сусрет са другаром, нашим чланом @dragannenadic, човеком који је најзаслужнији за оне лепе извештаје из пећина источне Србије. Да видимо, чиме се он данас занима на бувљој пијаци. Да ли он то жели да запева?

Of course not. He just found the microphone stand in excellent condition and at an extremely affordable price. Another pleasant surprise from the flea market!

Не, наравно. Само је нашао сталак за микрофон у одличном стању и по изванредно повољној цени. Још једно пријатно изненађење са бувље пијаце!

Well then another pleasant surprise – with Nenad (left) your @lighteye played basketball twenty years ago. Amazing how fast time flies. Today at the flea market he was trying to put together a working Dell Chromebook from the rest of Dells on this pile…

Па онда ново пријатно изненађење – са Ненадом (лево) ваш @lighteye је пре двадесет година играо баскет. Невероватно како време брзо лети. Данас је на бувљој пијаци покушавао да састави један исправан Делов Хромбук од Делова (или делова) на овој гомили…

He came there with his childhood love, today his wife, Tamara.

Ту је дошао са својом љубави из детињства, данас супругом, Тамаром.

It was so hot today that only the oxen were ready to play football.

Данас је било толико вруће да су само волови били спремни да играју фудбал.

Fortunately, refreshment is always nearby.

Срећом, освежење је увек у близини.

But even with the refreshment, the color began to melt in the paintings 😉

Али чак и уз освежење, боја је почела да се отапа на сликама 😉

And then came another pleasant surprise. Your @lighteye found as many as two interesting lenses in one day. The first is rather unknown and inconspicuous Maginon-Series G 70-210mm f/4-5.6 telephoto lens, quite dusty and with a broken aperture that does not close down…

А онда је дошло још једно пријатно изненађење. Ваш @lighteye је у једном дану нашао чак два занимљива објектива. Први је прилично непознат и неугледан телеобјектив Maginon-Series G 70-210mm f/4-5.6, поприлично прашњав и са блендом која се не затвара…

And yet, even in such a state, it can give quite decent photos. In addition, it is very compact, so it is not a big problem to carry it around. At this one aperture, it resembles reflex lenses such as Tokina SZX 400mm f8 Reflex MF. Here’s what Maginon looks like at the minimum length and fully extended:

Па ипак, и у таквом стању, може да да сасвим пристојне фотографије. Уз то, веома је компактан, тако да није велики проблем носити га. На овој једној бленди, подсећа на рефлексне објективе какав је на пример Tokina SZX 400mm f8 Reflex MF. Ево како Магинон изгледа у минималној и максималној поставци:

I hope that I will be able to find a service technician who could be able to return it to a fully functional condition. The second lens is the famous Russian Helios 44 M-5 58mm f/2, with which Maginon was shot. About him in another post. Let’s see now a few photos taken by the magical Maginon:

Of course, you can’t expect spectacular sharpness from such an old lens, but the details came out surprisingly good. The contrast is lower than with modern lenses, but it can also be a consequence of dirt that has crept in between the lenses. It’s dirty, but it’s dirt cheap also. And it can be cleaned, while the contrast can be easily corrected later. Here’s what the last photo looks like after a small intervention in Faststone Image Viewer:

Наравно да се од овако старог објектива не може очекивати спектакуларна оштрина, али детаљи изгледају изненађујуће добро. Контраст је нижи него код модерних објектива, али то може бити и последица прљавштине која се увукла међу сочива. Јесте прљав, али је зато јефтин. А може се очистити и контраст се може лако поправити накнадно. Ево како последња фотографија изгледа после мале интервенције у Faststone Image Viewer-у::

What a cool post so much to see at the market and how cool to find those lens I have a Helios and must get it out and use it again it can give a real nice feel to some images
