Hello friends, I hope you are doing well. Today I want to tell you about something that has upset me a lot, although I don't usually write these things, I can't overlook this massacre. A few weeks ago, while looking on the social network instagram, I came across a video in which many harp seals and other gray seals were cruelly mistreated in order to especially kill their young, I was shocked to see once again how cruel humanity can be for money or just for fun. After watching the video, I searched for information on why so many seals were being killed, especially their young.

When I heard that the east coast of Canada prepares for the annual hunt in the spring, I wanted to know what they were doing to the seals. I wanted to know what they do with the seals, to which I did not like their answer, since they hunt them for their precious fur, to make coats out of them, or to sell their omega-3 fatty acids in addition to their meat. But the hunters are very interested in the smaller seals because they have a very soft fur that does not yet provide thermal protection, while the larger seals are less likely to be hunted because they do have that protection, What this is really about is their killings that have no name are inhumane, these hunters use their harpoons to catch the young in the face, in the eyes or shoot the seals from moving boats, other ways they use a lot are their clubs and hakapik (which is a kind of beak).

The more I read, the more questions I had, then the Canadian government informed the hunters to use effective techniques so that the animals would not suffer and die immediately, another reason why they hunt an extremely large amount of seals assures the government is that they eat the cod from those areas, upon further investigation it was discovered that this cod was only a small part of the seals food, which they are not guilty of, because if we think about it for a moment "it is us who invade their space and not the other way around".

Due to the many protests against the slaughter of seals, their consumption has decreased and animal welfare advocates (Humane Society International in Canada) have protested against the cruelty towards these poor animals, which has led to about 35 countries joining their cause. This does not mean that these brutal deaths have completely ended. Therefore, I ask that we take care of animals, they are living beings like us, they have the right to live.

Hola amigos, espero que estéis bien. Hoy quiero contaros algo que me ha molestado mucho, aunque no suelo escribir estas cosas, no puedo pasar por alto esta masacre. Hace unas semanas, mirando en la red social instagram, me encontré con un vídeo en el que muchas focas arpa y otras grises eran cruelmente maltratadas para, sobre todo, matar a sus crías, me impactó ver una vez más lo cruel que puede ser la humanidad por dinero o simplemente por diversión. Después de ver el vídeo, busqué información sobre por qué se mataba a tantas focas, especialmente a sus crías.
Cuando me enteré de que la costa este de Canadá se prepara para la caza anual en primavera, quise saber qué hacían con las focas. Quise saber qué hacen con las focas, a lo que no me gustó su respuesta, ya que las cazan por su preciada piel, para hacer abrigos con ellas, o para vender sus ácidos grasos omega-3 además de su carne.
