A dApp sampling Utopian's model would be a huge boost for Hive Blockchain.
I have been on Hive for two months now, and based on little information I got from reading some blogs, Hive is barely 3-4 months old. It's amazing how well it has faired considering how "young" the project is.
So far, there are few DApps running on the blockchain, with the commonest or the pioneer being "Hive blog". I expect more DApps to emerge in the future, and it's a good thing. The diversification it'll bring would ensure that everyone has something to offer on Hive, especially in their specific niché.
Few days ago, I stumbled on a post about a new DApp sampling Fiverr's model. I was excited about the news as I feel it'll create an avenue for a lost of interesting things. There was a similar model on Steem called Steemgigs by @surpassinggoogle, however, it didn't live up to its billing. I hope this one on Hive does.
Speaking about DApps, I was thinking it'll be great if we get a similar model to that of Utopian then on Steem. If you joined Steemit early enough, you definitely should have come across the project, or even used it.
Utopian was an amazing project, and the model was great. It faced a lot of abuse though, however, it was a project worthy of accolades until it was sold.
It'll be great to see such project again on Hive. And I think it'll be such a huge boost to the blockchain. I'm certain a lot of oldies on Hive[especially the core founders] know about Utopian, so explaining the model isn't needed.
Utopian helped to onboard valuable individuals on Steem. Most of which are now on Hive. Especially the moderators. I've seen @codingdefined, @syedumair, @tykee @ckole etc. Aside the moderators, Utopian was able to onboard some open-source software project owners who were able to finance their projects with Utopian incentives. Some even went on to become Steem devs.
Aside from project owners joining steem, there were several contributors making valuable contributions to open source software. And isn't original effort something of value on Hive? I guess yes.
I'm happy for where Hive blockchain resides at the moment.However, it'll be great to start seeing some diversity in the blockchain which can be brought about by several DApps. And I hope a project sampling Utopian's model is developed.
Utopian was indeed a great project, but I don't think it was sold. The founder claimed he will be back on the blockchain. However, it been several months. It would be really great to see a concept like Utopian on Hive. I have been working on a quite similar concept, but you know how it works without huge power to reward the people. I have a community here on Hive- https://hive.blog/trending/hive-103590 and I built this simple UI to show what we do, https://gitplait.tech/ it seems pretty static, but I plan to build it to a well functioning system when the community is pretty active on Hive. Personally, I don't want to run cost on a system that won't fund itself.
Maybe if we had more people talking about it, the guys at the top will start taking interest.

Utopian was a great project. I just don't understand why Diego removed the shock. That's bygone anyway. Having a project like that on hive will be awesome, but one limitation I've seen on hive is that no one has the power to give huge delegation like Ned did through Mr Delegation account. Getting a project like utopian isn't the problem, but getting support is the issue. As @tykee mentioned, he has a project he has been working on with the mindset of using the utopian concept, but there has been no support. The main deal is having the power to reward people with valuable contents. No one will crack his brain and post on a platform all to receive a thank you comment.

As @tykee mentioned it's all about the Hive Power delegation, though if people are ready to give delegation and they will get 80% curation in return that will be enough I guess to start with. But for that something has to be started.

I think people[prospective delegators] will take interest when the model is live.
