Okja (Reseña/Review)
Una gran empresa de comida obtuvo en su poder una nueva especie, un supercerdo, un cerdo de un tamaño irregular con ciertas otras características, decidieron estudiarlo y ayudarlo a expandirse para que el nombre de Mirando Corporation quedara en alto, sus esfuerzos valieron la pena y dieron a conocer otros nuevos supercerdos, llevando estos a diversas partes del mundo con granjeros certificados que cuidarían de ellos, para luego mostrarlos al mundo en un concurso del mejor supercerdo 10 años después.

Debo decir que el diseño de Okja fue lo que me impulso a verla, luego pude ver que el director de esta película es Bong Joon-ho; director también de Parásito que ganó el oscar de mejor película el año pasado, y me sobraron ganas de verla, quería ver que otros proyecto había tenido Bong Joon-ho antes de crear Parásito. Cada vez que la película se desarrollaba podía ver muchas caras conocidas, podía ver a Jake Gyllenhaal, Tilda Swinton, Giancarlo Esposito y muchos otros que me hacían quedarme viendo para saber como se desarrollaba todo.
La película da varios giros, desde el comienzo empieza como un film de amor entre mascota y dueño, luego cambia a dar un mensaje ecológico, habla de las industrias de comida y más, te llegas a perder un poco si estas al tanto de la historia y como va cambiando conforme van pasando los minutos, las vueltas que dan y los personajes que aparecen que parecen ser interminables. Tiene toques de humor en ciertos casos, no se sabe o se siente que es lo que desea ser este film en realidad, si el mensaje es algo serio o como se categoriza la película.
Es entretenida en varios aspectos, si se desvía la atención de la historia y solo se disfruta, puede ser una gran película para pasar el rato, las escenas que tiene con la actriz principal Ahn Seo-hyun como Mija son atrapantes, la actuación de Jake como un científico loco también ayuda a entretener y quedarse un rato más viendo, una combinación de personajes extravagantes con una historia mezclada, eso es Okja.
I must say that Okja's design was what prompted me to see it, then I could see that the director of this movie is Bong Joon-ho; director also of Parasite who won the Oscar for best film last year, and I had desire to see it, I wanted to see what other projects Bong Joon-ho had before creating Parasite. Every time the film was developed I could see many familiar faces, I could see Jake Gyllenhaal, Tilda Swinton, Giancarlo Esposito and many others who kept me watching to know how everything was developing.
The film takes several twist, from the beginning it begins as a love film between pet and owner, then it changes to give an ecological message, it talks about the food industries and more, you get to lose a little if you are aware of the history and how it changes as the minutes go by, the turns it make and the characters that appear that seem endless. It has hints of humor in certain cases, it is not known or felt what this film really wants to be, if the message is something serious or how the film is categorized.
It is entertaining in several ways, if it diverts the attention from the story and just enjoys it, it can be a great movie to hang out, the scenes it has with lead actress Ahn Seo-hyun as Mija are engaging, Jake's acting As a mad scientist it also helps to entertain and stay a while longer watching, a combination of quirky characters with a mixed story, that's Okja.
Es una película con una duración de 2 horas, no es muy larga dado que ahora las películas duran eso y más, espero que puedan llegar a verla en una tarde de películas o en una noche antes de dormir.
