NEW! Getting Started with HIVE video tutorial - Lesson 1
The following video is for folks completely new to blogging on a blockchain. This is the first video within a multi-lesson video tutorial that will hopefully make your first experience of social media on a decentralized blockchain a happy one.
This first video covers:
- Creating an account (I recommend using Hive Onboard)
- Setting up your profile for success
- Initiating rewarding relationships
- Joining communities
If this first lesson proves useful to the community I plan to create 3 more covering topics like content creation on the platform, earning rewards, managing one's wallet, and using important tools.

If you're in the USA and want to get some crypto so you can use that method for instant startup on your laptop/desktop, the easiest way is probably to use Cash App from Square on your phone to buy your first Bitcoin straight from your checking account or credit card linked to that. It's a free app anyone can download. Not sure if it works outside the US.

Thank you. It took a bit of effort to get myself to start, because the software I use had a major update, forcing me to pretty much relearn it before I could use it again. But once I got going it started flowing. Watch for the next one in a few days.

Price of Hive doesn't really matter to me except on days I'm buying. Have to wait for my next STEEM power down to be able to buy more so not paying attention just now. Crypto is always volatile and price wars between STEEM and HIVE are going to make both even more volatile for a few months. Just pay attention on the days you can actually do something.
