Gatitos en Casa Conoce a la Pandilla - Kitties at Home Meet the Gang

¡Hola pequeños Hivers! El día de hoy les quiero platicar como nos ha ido teniendo tantos gatitos en casa. Tenemos seis en total.
Eddie nunca había tenido gatos, Marina y yo ya había tenido gatitos antes pero nunca tantos jaja, así que esto es nuevo para todos. Todo comenzó cuando nos mudamos a Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico, conocimos a Marina (nuestra roomie) y a su gatita Mikan. Al principio Mikan no nos quería porque es muy tímida, pero poco a poco fue cediendo y agarrando confianza.
Un día nos habló un amigo de Marina para pedirnos ayuda en darle casa temporal a una gatita callejera. Era una gatita sin hogar, al parecer la abandonaron, este amigo para darle un techo, pero su mamá ya no quería más animales. Tenía su vientre inflamado y creímos que eran bichos, así que la llevamos a la veterinaria y luego a que le hicieran un ultrasonido, se portó super bien en todo el camino. Resultó que estaba embarazada, el diagnóstico arrojó que serían de tres a cuatro gatitos.
En este escenario sería muy difícil que la adoptaran, así que nos llegó al corazón y la adoptamos con mucho amor. Después de pensarlo mucho la nombramos Kiba, el por qué de ese nombre más abajo.
Cuando nacieron los gatitos pasamos dos semanas sin ningún problema, eran muy bebes y aún no abrían los ojos, sólo comían y dormían. Kiba ha sido una excelente madre, siempre se preocupa por ellos y los busca (esperemos que no sea duro para ella cuando los adopten) se asegura de que estén bien si llegan a chillar y juega con ellos cuando la buscan.
Después de esos quince días todo se empezó a descontrolar con cada día que pasaba. Pronto ya no los pudimos tener en una caja en nuestro cuarto y nos aventuramos a empezar a dejarlos en la sala, pero había un problema.
Mikan, la gatita de Marina que tiene siete años, empezó a tener problemas con Kiba poco después de que la trajimos a vivir a la casa, la veterinaria dijo que era normal porque ya empezaba a defender a sus crías y su espacio. Mikan es una gatita muy noble pero quedó muy sentida ya que Kiba la llegó a atacar un par de veces y por esto no la quería ni ver.
Tuvimos que dividir territorios y poner dos areneros. La parte de abajo era de Kiba y los gatitos, arriba era el territorio de Mikan. Ha sido muy duro para nosotros todo este proceso, sobre todo ahora que los gatitos han crecido más y se nos hace muy difícil controlarlos, son todo un caso.
Ya no nos podemos sentar en el sillón de la sala porque los gatines lo orinan, la casa la tenemos que limpiar diario porque siempre meten basura del patio, han acabado con las plantas del jardín, ahora hay que comprar más arena y limpiar más seguido el arenero. Comprar más alimento, cuidar de no dejar nada de comida sobre la barra porque a diferencia de los perros, los gatos saltan buenos tramos y se suben a todos lados y tiran todo.
Prácticamente la casa es suya jajaja... nosotros vivimos con ellos como sus esclavos y pagamos todo, el único lugar que tienen prohibido entrar es nuestro cuarto ya que tiene alfombra y les gusta afilarse las uñas en ella y muy probablemente la querrían orinar como el sillón.
Ha sido duro pero también divertido y bonito. Cada gatito va agarrando su personalidad y desde que llevamos a operar a Kiba (la esterilizamos) la relación con Mikan a mejorado en un 90%. Mikan ya baja y convive un poquito con ellos (su gatito favorito es Suki), ya le demostramos que Kiba no le va a volver a pegar y poco a poco las hemos ido acercando. El día de hoy amanecieron todos los gatos en el cuarto de Marina, lo cual es un gran paso en su convivencia y un mal paso para el cuarto de Marina puesto que amaneció con destrozos jajajaja.
A continuación les contaré un poco la personalidad de cada gatito:

Es muy tranquila y obediente, no es muy cariñosa a menos que quiera comer. Es buena madre y como dato curioso, Kiba perdió un colmillo de abajo y el otro lo tiene por fuera, la veterinaria dijo que no le afectaba para comer así que se le quedo como su sello especial. De hecho le pusimos Kiba por que en japonés significa colmillo. |

Es muy juguetón y el más chillón de todos, quizá es uno de los que más se parece en personalidad a Kiba. Dato curioso, Ori fue elegido en adopción por Marina, así que ya estaba nombrado desde antes de nacer. |

Es el más cariñoso de todos y el que más se resiste a los castigos del atomizador de agua. Le encantan los mimos y dormir a tu lado (he subido un par de videos con Suki dándome amor a mis historias de Instagram) es muy juguetón y le encanta buscar a Mikan para jugar. Dato curioso su nombre significa "me gustas" "te quiero". |

Es la más juguetona y le gusta ser ruda pero sin chillar, de hecho es la que menos chilla pero su maullido es el más agudo. Aunque su nombre originalmente era Chi, decidimos cambiarlo a Michi porque sentimos que solo Chi no le queda. Dato curioso, durante el embarazo siempre pensamos que serían más hembras que machos y resultó que Michi fue fue la única hembra. |

Es el más tranquilo de los 4 se junta más con Suki aunque a veces también con Michi, es muy independiente. Dato curioso, le gusta meterse debajo del sillón boca arriba y sacar solo la cabeza para jugar y cuando lo vas a tocar esconde la cabeza bajo el sillón. Es el más curioso y junto a Suki empezaron a tomar las ligas para el cabello de Marina y las mías como juguetes y las celan como si fueran sus tesoros, no dejan que los hermanos se las quiten. |
Como padres responsables que somos nos hemos divididos los gastos de alimento y arena, así como la limpieza de la casa y su caja/baño. De cuando en cuando les hemos tomado fotos para ver su crecimiento y atesorarlo. Estamos felices porque están creciendo sanos y fuertes, esperamos que a la casa que lleguen les den mucho amor como lo hacemos nosotros.
Ha sido una buena experiencia que ha puesto a prueba nuestra paciencia, constancia y responsabilidad. Eddie y yo ya estamos listos para los hijos (no se crean) jajaja… Pero si ha sido una buena práctica para cuando lleguen.

Hi dear Hivers! Today I want to share with you our experience having this many kitties at home. We have six in total.
In his life Eddie never had any cats before, Marina and I have had cats, but never as many as right now hehe, so this is something new for al of us. All started when we moved to Guadalajara , Jalisco Mexico, we met Marina (our roomie) and her car, Mikan. At first Mikan did not like us because she is a very shy cat, but little by little we gained her confidence.
One day one of Marina's friends called us to ask for help, he told us if we could give temporal shelter to a stray cat. It seem that she was abandoned, this friend gave her food and a roof to sleep on his driveway but her mom didn't want more animals. We went to see her and her belly was swollen, she looked young so we thought she had parasites or something like that. Few days after that we drove her to the veterinarian and then to an ultrasound test where they showed us that she was expecting three to four kittens.
In this status it would be very difficult for someone to adopt the little cat, it touched our hearts and we decided to adopt her. After thinking a lot for a name we decided to call her Kiba, I will tell you why below.
When the kittens were born we had two very peaceful weeks, they were still babies and their eyes were had not open yet, their activities were sleep and eat. Kiba has been an excellent mommy, she is always taking care of her kittens and looks out for them, we hope that she doesn't take it to hard when they are finally adopted. She even plays with them and still lets them drink milk, but not for a long time.
After those first weeks everything began to spiral out of control. Soon we were no longer to keep the box in our room and we started venturing into the living room, but ther was a problem.
Mikan, Marina's that is seven years old, began having problems with Kiba soong after arrived home, the vet told us that is was normal because she was starting to defend her kittens and her space. Mikan is a very noble cat but she was resented because Kiba attacked her kind of hard a couple of times and because of that she didn't want to cross paths with her.
We had to divide the territories and we put two cat litter boxes. The house has two floors so the bottom floor was for Kiba and her kitties and the upper floor was Mikan's. This process has been very harsh for us, specially because the cats have grown a lot and controlling them is getting out of our hands.
We can not longer sit down on the living room sofa because they have peed there, we have to be constantly cleaning the house because they bring trash from the backyard, they have ruined the plants, we have to buy more sand for the cat litter boxes and clean it more often. We also have to but more cat food, be careful not to leave any food on the counter because they love jumping over and mess with everything.
The house is no longer ours hahaha, we are slaves of this cats, we pay for everything and the only place where they are not allowed is our bedroom because it has carpet and they love sharpening their little clawas in it and they may also pee like they did on the sofa.
It has been tough, but it also has been fun and cute. Each cat has his own personality and since we sterilized Kiba the relationship with Mikan has improved in 90%. Mikan has started going down the stairs and little by little she is coexisting with the little kittens. Her favorite one is Suki, who has showed her a lot of love and even gives him little kisses. Today all the cats woke up on Marina's bedroom, it is something good and a great step to the coexisting, but it is not so good for Marina's bedroom because they cause a little bit of mess there.

He is the most tender of all the cats and also the most resilient when punished with water. He loves to give kisses and to sleep by my side, I have uploaded some stories on my Instagram with him. He likes to play a lot and he is always looking for Mikan to give hr love. A fun fact is that his name means "I like you / I love you". |

She is the most playful kitten, she likes to play tough with her brothers and she almost never cries, even tough her cry is very loud and acute. Her name was originally Chi, but we decided to change it for Michi. A fun fact is that during Kiba's pregnancy we though that she would have more females, but Michi ws the only one. |

Kero is very calm sometimes he joins Suki or Michi to play, but most of the time he is alone. A fun fact about him is that he loves to go down the sofa with his belly pointing up and only show his head, when you try to reach him he hides. He and Suki started playing with our hair leagues and those items have become precious for them, they do not allow anyone to take them from their hands. |
As the responsible parents that we are, we have divide the costs of the cat food and the sand for the cat littler box. We have also divided the chores of cleaning the house and all that is needed. From time to time we have taken photos of them to keep their growth and treasure it. We are very happy because they are growing up happy and strong, we hoe that they can find a home for them where they are also loved.
This has been a wonderful experience for us, and it truly has been a test of patience and responsibility. I think that Eddie and I are almost ready to become parents ourselves, just kidding, we still need time. But without a doubt this has been great practice.

Gracias, a algunos los estamos dando en adopción, pero con esto de la cuarentena está más difícil.
Me imagino que sí es más dificil, nosotros apenas adoptamos una perrita y si tuvo su chiste hahaha.
Pero sigue anunciandolos y pues esperando que alguien con posibilidad de moverse pueda ir por alguno de ellos.
