A Witch in my Garden: "Harlequin BlueFlag - Iris Versicolor"

avatar

Hello My Dear Witches...!

A few days ago I was given this beautiful plant, and I thought it had already bloomed, because it had some rhizomes that in my opinion were withered, to my surprise yesterday it bloomed, and let me tell you that I fell in love with this beauty, because I had only seen it in photographs and I had not noticed the intense purple color so beautiful that it can give us this beautiful flower.

The Harlequin Blueflag (Iris Versicolor), also known as the blue flag, poisonous flag, northern blue flag, purple iris, originated in the northern United States and considered the official flower of the state of Tennessee, and that although it was given to me as a Chinese orchid, it is actually a lily from the iridaceae family, and as you can see in the pictures they are similar to some orchids, This plant can reach up to 1 meter high and is quite lush, giving us these flowers that only open once, that is, I was just waiting to get my hands to give me the show and now I have to wait for it to give me other rhizomes and bloom again.

The second thing I did after transplanting this beauty, was to investigate about it, and one of the things that impacted me the most is that it is considered poisonous for pets, because its leaves and roots are considered poisonous, however with the rhizomes some experts of homeopathic medicine, make a tincture that is used to treat stomach diseases like diarrhea, gastric ulcers and heartburn.

Other sources indicate that it has properties, diuretics, laxatives, depuratives and stimulants, it is also a great help to treat the pains caused by the above-mentioned stomach aches, and also used in homeopathic medicine to treat headaches and migraines. Another property that surprised me is that it is recommended for pregnant women, as it helps to control excess salivation, nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. In addition, this beautiful flower is considered to have magical properties that attract money and wealth, specifically the roots of it, so this is another reason for me to fall even more in love with this beautiful flower.

It is important to mention that, before using any natural remedy, it is necessary to consult with the treating physician, because every organism is different and we do not know how it can react, in the same way the information that I show you here, I am not sharing it with the purpose of instilling the consumption of this plant, I share the beauty of its flowers and the information that seems relevant to me about the plant. In the same way I always invite you to expand the information if you like it.

Thank you for taking the time to read this publication, if you have any questions, criticisms or suggestions, I would appreciate leaving it in the comments box, and remember, you can also do magic wherever you go!
