Three years on the blockchain!

avatar

My account was approved and ready to use on June 15th, 2017. It's crazy how time flies.

I love using this blockchain. Being able to make any money, even a small amount, without a boss or schedule, or agenda, or anything feels absolutely amazing.

Why would I ever give a crap about any other social media ever again?

I've said it once and I'll say it again. Mainstream social media is just toxic. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook all suck in their own unique ways.

I get so irritated when people say they can't leave the mainstream social media because 'no other websites are able to reach the same amount of people as FB, Insta, or Twitter wahhhh'. That is a pretty whiny attitude to have. Why not just make good content no matter what site you use? Why not use Hive where you can get paid and not be required to earn a massive following? Why not just create exactly what you want, have fun, and hope for the best? Why must people play a game or a role to be monetized?

I'm not trying to sound like some Hive success story, because I'm definitely not. But I believe I can keep building my account and my other Hive Engine accounts. On Hive, not only can I share my thoughts and feelings freely, I can also actually actively build towards something. I've grinded for the Hive I've got through being a user or investing the little money I can. I'm proud of the Hive I've earned.

What is it people are building towards on mainstream social media? More worthless likes? More worthless follows? More clout?

Don't get me wrong, likes and follows are always appreciated. But after a couple of years of giving and receiving virtual pats on the back, I kind of start to feel like a moron. Just endlessly looking, liking, looking and liking. Scrolling.

I remember I started to go mad with all of the bullcrap. I knew I wanted to write and maybe earn money somehow. I knew modern social media was literally draining me.

Then all of a sudden I found Steem. It felt too good to be true. I felt like I was getting scammed. But nope, no scam. I'm using Hive and I ain't going back.

I can choose how much value I give certain posts based on my personal feelings and opinion of the post. Everybody with an account can. People can collectively and positively impact the world by giving value to people and content they care about. Everyone can raise each other up. Impact the world in your own way with individual upvotes. It's a beautiful thing.

I can upvote and help a friend down the street, instantly. I can upvote and help a person across the planet, instantly. I can support folks I agree with, even people I disagree with if I want. I can vote for people that share my interests. We can really impact and influence the world.

Clout and follows are nice and good sometimes. But Hive levels the playing field a bit. Regular people can impact the world online more than ever with Hive.

I don't know what to say, hopefully I don't sound too crazy, but then again on Hive it wouldn't matter would it? It's beautiful.

Hive makes philanthropy and entrepreneurship function at the same time, and its amazing.

Make content, present it to the public, the public decides how much they like it or not, you get what you get. It's amazing. Voters get money based on their speculation or whatever. Like staking in a bsuiness or a product or something like that.

This place is great, and people need to realize it. I don't see a scenario where Hive just fizzles out forever. A dude literally tried to steal the blockchain and that didn't work.

If there's money to be made people will come. Money talks, bullcrap walks.

I don't know what this post turned into, but I am just saying I have really enjoyed using this blockchain. For the past three years it felt pretty good knowing I wasn't ever completely broke, and that if I hustle and do my best I have a shot at making something. This community is great for that as well. Not just the blockchain. The users are who matter even more, so much more. Hive makes giving feel amazing as well, because when I vote for someone's post even if it's a few cents I know it actually helps, because how doesn't it? Hopefully one day I can give more with my vote.

So to everyone who has ever upvoted my posts, thank you very much.

Hive on everyone!!

Your 3-year anniversary post got me to thinking...when did I actually join. I looked it up and you beat me by a month (July 26, 2017). In case anyone wonders, "How do you 'look it up?'" Head over to https://hiveblocks.com/@XXXX get rid of the Xs and type in your username after the @ symbol. You entire Hive history will be there. At the bottom, just navigate to the oldest page listed. Your first data entry will show your Hive "birthday".

Comgratulations! I also see Hive as the coolest place, I do not share any of my quality content anywhere else. And I am proud of it.
