Why Are Some Countries Having More Cases Of COVID-19 Than Others?

A Compulsary
B.Stopped the Program
C.Never Implemented

If we start looking around we will see certain countries doing better than others. What have they done different to contain the virus? The truth is very little compared to everyone else right now ,but a possible injection you receive when you are born and then another booster later on could be the difference. Not all countries administer this so it gives for some interesting data.

The BCG or Bacillus Calmette-Guerin vaccine has been around for approximately 100 years. Unfortunately countries have stopped using it over time yet some still administer it today. The vaccine was to help fight respiratory infections in juveniles and is now the hope for the cure of COVID-19. Already tests are being carried out with this vaccine with results expected in a few months.Basically you are given a mild/weakened form of TB which actually helps the immune system. Holland have already started testing on health workers 10 days ago as we don't have two years to wait and have no choice.

In South Africa having the BCG injection when you are a new born or within the first year is law. This is to help prevent Tuberculosis or TB as it is also commonly known. The vaccine helps boos the immune system giving the youngsters a chance and protection against TB. Later in life the BCG vaccine does wear off, but you have already created antibodies that will help.

If we start to look around at countries who roll out these injections to their kids it starts to paint a clearer picture. Information and data is what is going to show what the right route is going to be going forward and solving the problem.

Many countries used to give the new born this vaccine, but have since stopped over the past decade or two. 49 countries have in fact changed their policy with this BCG vaccine and only 16 give a booster when you are a teenager, normally when you are around 15/16. I haven't forgotten this injection as it was the one with many needles leaving a raised scar for a few years afterwards.Unfortunately South Africa has stopped handing out that booster these days and is more about Government spend and financial than anything else.

If we look at the death rate around the world and look at the map the top 5 are in purple and orange. I know Australia has not gone with the trend, but that could be down to the lock down in place now. Portugal I think is showing this thought process could possibly be right as compare their neighbors in Spain to their figures. The same could be said for Ireland who have had a different vaccine policy to the UK.

Spain is nearly on 14 000 deaths compared to Portugals 345. UK is on 6100 against Ireland's 210. Nigeria has had 238 cases with 5 deaths with a country that has a huge population. India you would think would be ravaged, but they haven't been over run and have only had 150 deaths. There seems to be a trend that one cannot ignore as the figures tell their own story.

I am sure more and more research will go into this, but at least it gives the scientists a starting point for the COVID-19 vaccine. If this is true then the vaccine wont take 18 months to create and it will be ready within a fraction of the time.Holland has already started clinical trials 10 days ago on over 800 health workers.

I think it depends on the exposure of a country to countries where the virus is originally mutuating from, like some northern African countries have lesser cases, I believe it's the exposure

No it is more than just that. Look at countries that have fairly high cases and a low death rate have all had these booster vaccinations unlike other countries who haven't. Spain, Italy, France ,Germany,UK and USA haven't had this and it is highlighting in the death rate. In Nigeria you guys have 3 installments of this injection.I have had 2 at least.

Interesting, I have no clue about this vaccine in Belgium, but your reasoning makes sense with the figures

Belgium don't believe in giving a "live" vaccine even though it helps prevent TB in younger patients. They stopped vaccinating in 1954.

Very interesting angle. Do you have data on when the purple countries stopped?

Australia was mid 1980's. UK was 1995, France was 1997. Spain was 1981 and Italy 1998. This doesn't necessarily mean everyone got the boosters though, just babies at birth. Australia stopped as TB was not really a problem anymore in the Northern Territories. You must have had one or possibly two injections and possibly would remember the last one as it was a massive booster type with multiple needles that left a big bump on your arm.

I do believe there is something in it as that is 3 countries now working on the vaccine with this info. Holland,Australia and the States. Chinese are probably cursing as their brown bat plan unravels.

It's good, I'm hoping it gets them a headstart. I'm going out my mind with this lockdown caper.

The way you guys are going you will be another month at least. You haven't even come close to the plateau yet.I am hoping next weekend I am out and about again. Did you know your dead figures don't include people who die at home?

Yeah, they only just started adding the people who die in care homes to the figures. Up till now it has been hospital deaths only, I think. Rough.

News conference said earlier they are separate and do not get added for now. Same with the States who are having over 200 per day just in New York. Obviously not all Covid but still autopsies need to be done.

Very interesting sir cryptoandcoffee, looks like a clear difference. I thought we got enough vaccinations over here but maybe not!

I recall getting this while I was in school in the 1980's. My daughter never got it.

Talking about it you right right. But I will say not enough testing kit in some countries affect it. Like some countries, there is not enough testing kit for them to even know the actual figure of those affected and those dead because of the covid-19.

Also some countries have been in this pandemic longer than other countries that are just starting to experience their own covid-19 situation now
