A Tale Of Two Leaders

President/General Idriss Déby clearing Chad of any insurgents. It will be Nigeria's problem again with whoever is left as they are bound to flee across the border.

Chad has been making headlines over the last few days for the right reasons and it is not a Covid-19 story either. Boko Haram are on the run and are being systematically dismantled by the Chadian Army being led by their President Idriss Déby.

Must be worried as he looks like a complete failure to his people right now. Deep in thought wondering where else he can steal money from now the Boko Haram thing is coming to an end. He is currently obeying social distancing apparently as he is in lock down whilst Chad is social distancing Boko Haram permanently.

Déby has accomplished more in 3 days than the former President of Nigeria Goodluck Johnathon and his successor have over many years of rule. It is not hard to spot where a countries weakness is and it starts at the top. How foolish the Nigerians have been in voting in such week and pathetic individuals. President Muhummadu Buhari must be under all sorts of pressure now and he should have been present with his Army.

The last Nigerian Army general complained that they were fighting against Boko Haram with inferior equipment yet Nigeria spends more on it's military than Chad spends on it's entire annual budget. Something is not adding up and it smacks of corruption at the highest level. Nigeria spends more than $2 Billion a year and sounds very fishy giving what the previous head of the Army was complaining about. Honestly it sounds like the intended funds are not reaching their final destination and I am hoping this will eventually come out in the washing.

Goodluck Johnathon and President Muhummadu Buhari do not want this war to end as it justifies the massive "spend". There are not many areas in Government spend that you can get away with such big amounts especially if you are fighting a war you don't really want to win.You don't have to be a genius to work this one out and like most things in Africa the first thought is normally the right one. Many in Nigeria are thinking along the same lines as war unfortunately is profitable for the few.

The head of Boko Haram has come out and called the Chad Army busy bodies and wants to be left alone with the Nigerians. He has been fighting the Nigerians for 12 years and obviously doesn't like what has just happened. He was pleading with his fellow terrorists not to run away, but to stay and fight.

The President speaking on Saturday addressing his people ensuring them that the entire Chad Delta and Island Zone bordering Cameroon,Niger and Nigeria is now clear and not one terrorist is left alive.

The Chad army has sworn to rid their territory of any evil and will protect their people at any cost. I wish we could say the same for the Nigerians who look to continue this war on their home soil with whoever is left. The next few days will be important to what response Nigeria shows as it will tell us all we need to know. Chad has said they will work closely with their neighbors to help them rid the terrorists.

The time is perfect now for a joint effort as the Chad area has been cleared by the Chad Basin as the President had asked the civilians to clear the area three days ago. This is now the designated war zone and if Nigeria is smart enough and willing they will force any terrorists from Nigeria back into this zone. Boko Haram is on the run and now is the crucial time to finish them off and wipe them out. Having a no prisoner policy is always the best as it becomes messy otherwise. Just a few weeks a go they kidnapped and beheaded a Nigerian catholic priest. Numbers suggest more than 70 priests have disappeared due to Boko Haram.

The one good thing tonight is the Nigerian Army is suspending voluntary retirement of soldiers as they have a war to win. That is a positive at least, yet too little to late as the rest of thew world has seen enough already and knows what is happening.
