How Mother Earth Changed in Covid 19

This pandemic is here to stay, its been more than 6 months till it first discovered and now close to 10 Million people are affected worldwide. We might have heard a lot about the ill effects of it, the job losses, reduced income, death and so on. So today let's just see how it affected Mother Nature positively.

The first thing we noticed is the lockdown, all the countries started following the lockdown, some strictly and some casually. Those who have followed it strictly have the cases in limit whereas those who have followed it casually are paying the price. Though lockdown was just used to slow the spread of infection and thus eventually have given some time for countries to have a proper health system in place. But in countries like India, where we have 1.36 billion population, it's very hard to contain the spread of the virus and thus eventually we are heading towards herd immunity, and eventually, there will be a lot of lives will be lost.

Coming back to the topic, the lockdown has slowed the spread of infection and in addition, it also has positive effects on nature. With the lockdown in place, we have seen the industries got closed, no vehicle movement, power plants getting shut, lower consumption of fuel, etc. Because of this, the air pollution of cities like Delhi has improved a lot and similarly, people of Jalandhar can see the Himalayan Range because of reduced pollution. Delhi's air pollution was like staying in a gas chamber, and thus we can say that not it has improved a lot. This might not have happened if the lockdown was not in place. And we can say Nature knows when to heal itself, this might be its nature's way to punish human beings. Though the lockdown has lifted, still we should find a way to keep nature as it is.

Along with the decrease of air pollution, we have seen a decrease in water pollution, the Yamuna River, the Ganga River became a lot clearer and thus eventually it became drinkable again. I am sure that you have heard about Ozone layer hole decreasing in size, though the lockdown does not have contributed much to it, still, we can see the lockdown effect in coming years on nature.

We have also witnessed the birds roaming on the street when there were no human activities which are actually a good sign because Mother Earth is not only for Humans, its actually for every living being on earth. Though there are harmful effects of Covid-19 too I don't want to actually talk about it, since we have so many negativity around its always better to have some positivity. That's why to be happy we should always look positivity around, even though if you find 1 positive thing among 100 negative things, it's worth to share.

I hope people should learn from the lockdown and continue to live a low life so that it's not only helpful for them but also for society. Also, the companies should realize that a lot of people can work from home and thus the city congestion can be reduced and also it will reduce pollution.

I am currently speechless because this is a wonderful piece you have delivered. No doubt amongst the horrible experiences we have gotten or faced as a result of covid 19, there are a lot of positive lessons we can learn from. I was even considering writing an article on something similar to this before I stumbled upon this. Nice to see someone had my thoughts 😊😊
