SALVADOR MONZON, The boxer / drawing step by step | by @christopherb
SALVADOR MONZON
Hi steemians:
This past weekend my father saw a heavyweight boxing match. In his own words it was a very close and interesting confrontation, where both opponents demonstrated their boxing skills and experience fighting to the end with ferocity. The confrontation lasted 7 round's and had as winner the biggest and least athletic boxer of both opponents. That great boxer inspired me to create an original character named Salvador Monzon, a warrior with a noble heart but big hands who is willing to show everyone what it is worth.
Step by step
1. Before starting, a new blank canvas opens.
2. I started with a really basic sketch of him.
3. I cleaned the sketch with the lineart and leave it ready for coloring.
4. I decided to start coloring by his skin.
5. I continued to color his eyes.
6. I decided to continue coloring his boxing gloves.
7. I kept coloring, then, his sports pants.
8. Finishing the process, I added the color background.
9. And finally, I added my signature to the drawing.
As final result: The boxer.
Despite not being passionate about boxing, I really enjoy it. I like to see how the fighters defend themselves inside the ring and how their "fighting spirit" takes them and motivates them to finish a fight. I like the story behind Salvador's creation and his final design. I hope you liked it and, as always, I would love to hear your opinion in the comments. A big hug!
All illustrations and history were drawn and written by me @christopherb.
