Another super cool ☕coffee cart☕ - Phuket has some 🛵scooter🛵coffee style!
Good day to all Hivers out there! Today I'll show you a little coffee cart just near my house I passed while cycling. It was so cool that I had to turn around. The owner was a bit shy but we had a good chat after and he's super friendly. Next time I'll stop for a coffee on a nice cool rainy day. Its just in front of the music shop so lots of interesting people around there.
Phuket style
Phuket really has its own style. More similar to Penang than other parts of Thailand I think. Recently locals have setting up coffee carts on old bicycles and scooters as you see here.
He's actually super friendly. There aren't many foreigners in my area and he was perhaps a bit nervous or shy. After we chatted and he explained everything to me about his cart.
I can speak Thai ok on certain subjects but can't read it. He told me he had Ethiopian, Thai, Laos, and Myanmar beans. I told him about my experiences with Vietnamese and Indian coffee. Such an interesting topic!
Another Italian coffee moka pot. This one cost him around 50 US dollars. Next to it is the gas and under is a little but strong camping stove. Everything you need and more all balanced on a Thai scooter!

Another great #MarketFriday subject! Well, most of Thailand is. I like the Italian pot he uses and the interesting method.

Thanks! Yes a real coffee culture has developed in Thailand. They grow beans in different areas, mostly in the north. He offers cold press too. I go by there all the time and today he was playing chess with his friend so I'll have to stop for sure sometime :)

Haha you know I'm always a DC kid at heart but I've been gone since 2000 basically. Wouldn't even know where I'd go if I went back. I was looking at Hawaii as an option if I did go back. Seems DC is crazy expensive these days :)
Hawaii is too!! It's all relative. Big salaries to compensate.

Used to come back every couple of years for around 4-6 months to work. But since 14 years no.
I find that when I return like that, it is with a different look that I see things. Some good, so less than. But, it does make me appreciate things, flipping from culture to culture.
I have found that I am a better person in so many ways because of it.
