Bozzlife #Wednesdaywalk: University of Toldeo

This pass weekend @mrsbozz and I drove to our usual half-way point of Toledo, OH to meet her sister's family for a lunch date. We met at a place called Ye Olde Durty Bird that I have covered before in a Tasteem.io post.

Last time my wife and I shared a meal, but this time I got something just for me in the form of these meatloaf sliders. They were pretty fantastic having a good balance of flavor and not being too filling. Especially since I didn't eat the top bun on two of them.

Additionally, I got a side of steak fries (chips) and I figured I should take a picture of them for @slobberchops. They were cooked pretty perfectly but they gave me way too many of them. Even with @mrsbozz sharing there were a ton left over.

This is where the #wednesdaywalk part of my post for @tattoodjay's challenge starts. After we finished eating we decided that we wanted to walk around the campus of University of Toledo. My niece has been to a softball camp there and she really liked the coaching staff. She is leaning pretty heavy towards attending there and she wanted to check out more of the campus.

One of the first things we saw was this cool sculpture and I had to get a picture of it because it reminded me of "The Fifth Element" which is one my favorite movies of all time.

We headed to the campus bookstore so my niece could get a t-shirt and on our way back to the car we walked near the main entrance of the college where they have the shield that you see in the picture above.

It was a little chilly at about 48 degrees and neither @mrsbozz nor I had brought jackets with us, but we managed.

The University of Toledo mascot is the Rockets, so I thought it was pretty cool when we walked by the hydrotherapy center and they had this rocket sculpture outside the building.

It was a great afternoon spent with our family and we are already making plans to see them again. Pretty soon softball season will be starting and we will be travelling down to watch that.

There was so much on the menu that looked so good. It was hard to pick. My nieces went with the same basic burger they got last time. @mrsbozz got a grilled tomato lettuce and cheese sandwich that she said was amazing and my brother in law got wings. By the end of our meal a band had set up on the stage and a lady was crooning some jazz tunes. It's a cool joint.

These are what I make at home, get a potato peeler and you have something similar.

Except they didn't peel yours, I can see the skins on the edges. In the UK it's quite rare to see them this way.

Oh really? I love them with the skins on. It adds a little extra flavor to them I think. Good stuff!

Toledo just feels like a dead town in a lot of ways. I am sure they would probably argue against that. I much prefer making the full trip and visiting them down in Columbus. Apart from the Buckeye fans, that is a cool town.
