Toraja The name of this area is certainly familiar to Indonesian citizens, especially for travelers. This area is very thick with cultural customs and is an area in the south of the island of Sulawesi, precisely at the northern tip of the province of South Sulawesi. Toraja is now divided into two different districts, Tana Toraja and North Toraja. His fame is no doubt. The visitors not only from local tourists, tourists from various parts of the world also flocked to Toraja.

Rambu Solo, Kete Kesu, Londa, and Lemo are some of the attractions of the unique Toraja that can always attract tourists. But for migrants who want to experience a different experience, Toraja offers another experience from Toraja tourism in general, which is enjoying Toraja from the height of the mountain. The mountain in question is Mount Sesean which is the highest point in Toraja.

Mount Sesean is located in Sesean Village, Sesean Solora Regency, North Toraja with an altitude of 2,100 above sea level. From the top of this mountain you can clearly see the green hills that surround Toraja and the densely populated settlements in Rantepao which is the capital of North Toraja district. Camping is the right choice when climbing Mount Sesean. At night with good weather, the scattering of stars and the Milky Way galaxy can be witnessed with the naked eye. Plus, the next morning you can enjoy the warm morning atmosphere when the dawn begins.

To get to this mountain, it takes about 2 hours by driving a motorized vehicle from downtown Rantepao, after that it takes about three to four hours to get to the top. Along the road from Rantepao, you will pass many Tongkonan residents who are traditional Toraja traditional houses, community plantations, and rice fields with winding roads going up and down. The climbing point starts from the residents' house which is usually used as a place to leave the vehicle.

The Sesean Mountain Trail is still friendly, not too uphill. The terrain is in the form of soil with many large stones up to the top. Water sources are available at several points. Because it is very suitable to be used as a choice to spend time when visiting Toraja. Camping, enjoying warm coffee above altitude, plus an amazing view of Toraja will certainly make your travel experience unforgettable.
