Wednesdaywalk: Walking in Kazan - A walk through the Kazan Kremlin (part 7)
This is my entry for the @tattoodjay's Wednesday walk challenge.
Today I continue my photo story about a walk around the Kazan Kremlin.
Last time, I ended up visiting the Cannon Yard and heading towards the Kul-Sharif Mosque.
There was a large square in front of the mosque, behind which was an old building with small windows and one of the towers located within the walls of the Kremlin.
In the building, located next to the mosque, there were souvenir shops and cafes.
Walking a little further I found myself in a place from which I managed to make a successful photo of the mosque itself.
This mosque is one of the largest in Russia. The mosque was built in the 21st century. In 2005, its discovery took place.
This mosque was built as a recreation of the main mosque of the Kazan Khanate, which was destroyed in the 16th century.
The mosque is operational, but at the same time it is open for tourists to visit.
Inside the mosque, you can’t take pictures, so when our group with a guide went to the mosque, I went for a walk further.
Once on a hill, I saw that people were climbing the Kremlin wall and I decided to go to the wall too.
On the way, I noticed that there were some rooms in the Kremlin wall that were covered with massive gratings.
When I hit the wall, a view of the surroundings of the Kremlin opened in front of me. See this building looking like a flying saucer? This building houses the local circus.
But I decided to go higher, because, as it turned out, in one of the towers of the Kremlin there is an observation deck. This staircase led upstairs.
And now, being upstairs, I saw the city through the observation window.
Quite a bit was placed in one frame, so I decided to make a panorama of several frames. Here's what happened.
In addition to the circus, I saw a sports stadium.
On the other side was a city and a pyramid-shaped building that caught my attention.
As far as I understand, there is some kind of casino or music club in this building.
Looking at another window I saw the courtyard of the Kremlin. In the distance, the Spasskaya Tower was visible, from which our walk began.
And finally, looking at another window, I got a great view of the Kul-Sharif mosque. These clouds and the blue sky made this frame much more expressive.
So instead of a walk through the most beautiful Kazan mosque, I accidentally ended up on a lookout tower. Having been a little longer on the tower, I went downstairs to continue walking around the territory of the Kremlin.
But I will tell about it next time.
See you next Wednesday!
I strongly recommend to open the photo in a separate tab to appreciate it.
These photographs look like a painting 👌
Thank you!
