Watercolor Painting - Smile. [ My Monochromatic Process]
Hello Hive Family!
After several weeks, I contacted my watercolor friends again and we set ourselves the challenge of painting a monochrome portrait.
My colleague Teresa proposed the following image so that we could paint it using paime gray
To be honest, that color did not come in my color box, but I analyzed one of the works she had in that color and it seemed like a subtle combination between black and blue, and I thought I could create it.
In a soft drink cap, I made the combination of black and blue, and I started with the sketch of the lady, which to tell the truth gave me a couple of complications, I did it by eye, so looking at the image I can notice some errors of proportion
I didn't know how to continue so to get an idea, I made a thin base coat keeping the light whites
It was time to start seriously, so I used the color with less water to make it darker.
And I added water for the lighter areas, so I was painting the woman's face in sections
I spent a long time adding color, making expression lines, trying here and there
First the left half and then the right, I thought that the hand would be more complicated due to the amount of details
so finger by finger, everything was taking shape
to highlight the finished face I added darker to the background
and some hair that came out, for this I used at the end, when the paper was dry, a little white acrylic paint
This was the result of one of the works that will be marked in my history as an artist,
what do you think about it?
I have had a lot of fun and I have learned a lot doing this work, I have been very happy with the result and of course, I will continue to learn much more
Have a good day ;)
'Wow' is the only word to express feeling for this artwork. Amazing work. Loved it. Thanks for sharing.
