Think About The Children - Pen Drawing

avatar

Hi all!

Happy new week. From my "African Child" drawing series, I present to you my new art work that shows what some little children are passing through.

Listening to Lucky Dube's music title "Think about the children" and drawing this piece. And I felt like crying when I heard these line

Sitting at the door one morning, looking at the children going to school.
Then I thought about the ones in the street,
Moving up and down, no where to go.
No education, no future.
Then I thought about their parents.
Why do they (children) suffer so much?

And most especially this one:

"If you (their parents) really don't need children, why do you have to burn them?"

The work depicts two little boys dressed in rags - the elder one is carrying his younger brother. They must have been going through a lot after their parents abandoned them.

This is what a lot of children are facing especially in this continent of the world called Africa.

Big UPS to Lucky Dube for that big message through his music.

The drawing was done with a blue ballpoint pen on a cardboard paper and I used scribble technique to create this piece. Below are my steps:

The above sketchbook was personally made by me with cardboard paper and other materials such as Top bond snd paper cover.

Have a great week.

Good job, good message, children really should have better opportunities in life, the street is the worst home. Thank you for thinking of them through art. Greetings friend

Yeah, but unfortunately, some were burn out of wedlock and left to fend for themselves at tender age with no form of care or parenting.

The message is really good and I think that there is never too much care for the kids as in the poorer countries they are used and have no childhood

You are right. Sometimes, when I walk around some areas and see them, I just shook my head and thought of where their parents could be. Even the government feel less concern about them. When other children are heading to school, they just move about with no destination.
I wish I could help much.

Yes, it is sad as kids have no blame that they were born in a certain type of family. There is a lot of neglect as authorities tend to see these kids as a waste of funds and their parents don't do much either. In some countries parents even send their kids to beg and then spend the money on cigarettes and alcohol. It is troubling to imagine through what that child must be going through mentally, emotionally

You are absolutely right. And some of those kids will end up following the same trend of their parents. Not getting a good education and friends and ultimately end up living a bad lifestyle. Only few excape this.

It sucks that children have to go through this, they didn't even ask to be born in the first place, I love the message in your work, it's so beautiful...kudos
