Original Character in grayscale to colour / オリジナルキャラクターを描きました

Back in June 2019, I drew an original character to match the sword which I also drew around the same time. HERE is the link if you would like to check it out. He is one of the very few original characters of mine.
I did some very rough sketches the other day. I was thinking of drawing a Samurai warrior but I changed my mind and decided to draw my original character in this pose.

２０１９年の６月に、少し前に描いた剣に似合うキャラクターを描きました。

数少ないオリジナルキャラクターの一つです。
先日、いくつかラフスケッチを描いたので、その中の一つをこのキャラクターで描くことにしました。
このスケッチ、サムライをイメージして描いたのですが変更です。

I had trouble making the face looked like my original character. I’m glad the angle of the face was very similar.

顔が描けなくて苦労しました。前に描いたものと顔の向きが似ているので救われました。

Adding details...

細かいところの形を整える作業が続きます。

I changed the angle of the sword.
I had a hard time positioning the waist and the legs. They are still not quite right but I decided to move on otherwise I’ll be working on it for another month or two. Angles, posing, placement of the body parts...these are somethings that I ALSO have to work on. I should continue with my figure drawing.

剣の角度がおかしかったので直しました。
ウエストと足の位置や角度を描くのに苦労しました。まだオカシイのですが先に進みます。これ以上やっても多分無理と判断しました。
角度、ポーズ、手足の位置。。。もっと上手に描けるようになりたいです。
ジェスチャードローイング頑張ります。

Adding a few more layers to define the darker and lighter shades.
I just noticed that the position of the hand and/or the angle of the sword is wrong 😭

更にレイヤーを増やして影や光の調節をしていたところで、手と剣の位置がオカシイことに気付きました😭

So many spots need attention but I’ll call it completed for now.
I need to do the sketching better. I should learn to draw hands and feet...so much to learn and improve.

お直しが必要なところばかりですが、とりあえず完成とします。
まずはスケッチをもっとしっかり描かないとです。それから手や足もちゃんと描けるようにしないと。
