What's up fellows as you are? welcome to a new post, this time I bring you a new drawing, about an armed elephant, this would be the number three in my series of armed animals, I hope you like it, it was quite fun to paint it.

Que pasa compañeros como están? sean bienvenidos a un nuevo post, en esta ocasiona les traigo un nuevo dibujo, sobre un elefante armado, este seria el numero tres en mi serie de Animales armados, espero les guste, estuvo bastante entretenido pintarlo.

Process / Proceso

Sketch / Boceto

As I always start the sketch by hand with geometric figures to achieve a correct shape of the animal I'm drawing, when I finish the complete shape of the elephant I start with the armor, mostly the armor is on the head.

Como siempre comienzo el boceto a mano con figuras geométricas para lograr una forma correcta del animal que estoy dibujando, cuando termine la forma completa del elefante comencé con la armadura, en tu mayoría la armadura esta en la cabeza.

Painted / Pintado

The first thing I began to paint as it was the most complicated was the skin of the elephant because it has very small details that give a unique effect, because the wrinkles have shadows and those shadows have glitter in each of its wrinkles, ultra tedious to do, paint the armor is a little easier but still needs a lot of work, placing shadows and glitter side and side.

Lo primero que comencé a pintar ya que era lo mas complicado fue la piel del elefante pues posee detalles muy pequeños que le dan un efecto único, pues las arrugas tienen sombras y en esas sombras poseen brillos en cada una de sus arrugas, ultra tedioso de hacer, pintar la armadura es un poquito mas fácil pero igual se necesita bastante trabajo, colocando sombras y brillos de lado y lado.

Shadows / Sombras

This time the shadows were placed on the left side of the drawing, because the light would come from the right side, also had to paint small details of shadows to achieve an effect of wrinkles on the skin, because it is a feature required of the elephants, had enough time without painting wrinkles so it became somewhat complicated.

Esta vez las sombras estaban colocadas del lado izquierdo del dibujo, pues la luz vendría del lado derecho, ademas tenia que pintar pequeños detalles de sombras para lograr un efecto de arrugas en la piel, pues es una característica obligatoria de los elefantes, tenia bastante tiempo sin pintar arrugas por lo que se hizo algo complicado.

Lights / Luces

As I already mentioned the lights came from the right side, after painting the shadows on the wrinkles I had to place the small points of light on it, which is quite tedious especially if you do it with a mouse, as it is my case.

Como ya mencione las luces venían de lado derecho, después de pintar las sombras en las arrugas me tocaba colocar los pequeños puntos de luz en ella, cosa bastante tediosa especialmente si lo haces con mouse, como es mi caso.

Background / Fondo

I wanted to place this character on a kind of plain at sunset so he has a kind of grass behind the elephant, so he has plenty of grass with warm tones, just like the sky.

Este personaje quise colocarlo en una especie de llanura al atardecer por eso posee una especie de pasto atrás del elefante, por eso tiene bastante pasto con tonalidades cálidas, al igual que el cielo.

Details / Detalles

The most important details in the drawing are the details of the skin, because it was quite difficult to achieve a wrinkle effect, also the existing shines in the armor and some details of light around the whole body.

Los detalles mas importantes en el dibujo son los detalles de la piel, pues fue bastante difícil lograr un efecto de arrugas, ademas los brillos existentes en la armadura y algunos detalles de luz alrededor de todo el cuerpo.
