Each week there should be 1 match on Friday in the Belgian Jupiler League. This one will be played early as there is Champions League action tonight.
Moeskroen vs KV Mechelen
Moeskroen was quite lucky last week to get away with a draw against Antwerp who didn't play their best match. From what it looks like right now, scoring will once again prove to be an issue. Their goalkeeper Koffi did make a nice first impression with some good saves. Some Moeskroen players got cramps near the end of the match which is certainly something to look out for in-game. Mechelen had a bad preparation period but were the better team at home against Anderlecht playing as the home fans were present in the Stadion. If anything, you can expect a team like Mechelen to always go for it. They do manage to create chances but finishing them at times is an issue. One of the most important players is Van Damme as they won 63% of the matches when he played compared to 22% if he was not in the team. Their line-up looks ok today and I can see why they are the favorite. There were only 2 home wins last week and the fact that matches are being played in empty stadiums certainly has something to do with that. For as far as betting goes, my notes say 'Moeskroen Team Total Under'. The odds have already dropped quite a bit though so I'm going to stay away from that one. the fact remains that Moeskroen isn't a free-scoring team while Mechelen last season overperformed in goals compared to the chances they got and they failed to score in their 6 practice matches. I had to take small bets on both
1st Half Under 1 @ 2.08 & Under 2.75 @ 1.813 as pre-game positions.
