It clearly showed yesterday that both the heat and the fact that there are no fans in the stadiums is a disadvantage of the favorites and goals to be scored in matches as all 3 underdogs covered their handicap with an average of 1.33 goals in each match. The pre-game position/trade I was in won but the only live bet I took ended up in half a loss. 4 more matches today which will all be played at a different time so fans can watch all of them fully.
Sint-truiden vs AA Gent
Sint-Truiden looks a bit weakened compared to last season as they are waiting to get a new much-needed striker until later in the transfer window hoping for cheaper prices. If anything last season, their defense was quite solid especially at home where they play on an artificial pitch. They went 9W-3.5L-1.5P on their home Asian under handicaps. AA Gent looks quite ready for the season and has a really solid team which should be able to rival Club Brugge despite be missing David who was their best player last year. Yaremchuk got inspired by Ronaldo and worked really hard over the summer looking very sharp. Yaremchuk to score goals will be on my watchlist. The match will be played around 13:30 and the conditions will be extremely hot. I'm liking both AA Gent and the under in this match and took a pre-game position on
Sint-Truiden Team Total Under 1 @ 1.88 as a good compromise between both. Their lack of offensive power combined with the heat should make it unlikely for them to score 2 goals.
Zulte-Waregem vs Genk
Racing Genk by now is a totally different team compared to 2018-2019 where they took the title in an impressive way. Last season they were overrated on the betting market going 9.5W16L-2.5P vs the Asian closing line and I believe it could be the case that they still aren't properly valued. They made an offensive transfer with Dessers who was the top striker in the Dutch Eredivisie but I can't say I'm sold on it yet since that's a completely different league. Zulte-Waregem last season took a good start but fell back with a big losing streak and issues in defense taking only 5 on 30 points in the last 10 games. Their team this season looks more balanced compared to last season even though Striker Larin left and 1st goalkeeper Bossut got a heavy injury in a practice match. Overall I see Genk as a bit overrated still based on their performance 2 years ago and Zulte-Waregem underrated based on their poor end of last season. I took a pre-game position on
Zulte-Waregem +0.5 @ 2.04 and will see how it goes live.
KV Mechelen vs Anderlecht
Mechelen last season overperformed in terms of goals they scored compared to the actual chances they got while Anderlecht was a complete mess all season long. Kv Mechelen had a really bad preparation losing their last 6 matches being unable to score a single goal. The names on the Anderlecht line-up are still very much underwhelming and they also miss a real killer on the attack. Under 2.75 @ 1.890 as a pre-game position. The game itself should give a much clearer match picture of how these two match up.
Kortrijk vs Waasland
Kortrijk mostly was able to keep their team and should be good for the start of the season. At home they tend to be an over team while away they are more underish. Waasland somehow managed to stay in the 1st league after a big legal battle which made it hard for them to prepare for the season since they didn't know in what league they would start. They got 60 goals against last season and only managed to score 21. Both Badibanga and Tuur Dierckx left the team and they simply don't look like they are ready yet. It's hard to take a -1 line on the home team under these conditions as it showed yesterday that it's not the smartest idea. The only bet that tempts me to take a little bit on is Kortrijk -2 corners @ 1.787 but I will skip for now and see what the match brings live.
