Sí, soy un hombre de vicios, es la verdad y no me da miedo aceptarlo, justo ahora tengo dos de ellos muy arraigados, la macrofotografía y comprar cactus, en lo que sí apesto son en los nombres de ellos, pero me estoy dando cuenta que debo buscar otro vivero porque al que siempre voy, casi nunca saben los nombres de las especies, y como apenas inicio en esta actividad, cuando busco sus nombres en google los veo muy similares.

Y como no encontraba una mejor forma de presentarlos, decidí hacer unas cuantas fotografías y de paso que sirviera para ayudar a nuestro amigo @mtzrene, a quizás tener una mejor idea de lo que puede conseguir con los esquemas de iluminación, es por eso que tomé estas fotografías, la verdad es que tenía tiempo con ganas de usar dos puntos de luz, pero ayer decidí utilizar los geles de color para dar éste ambiente, la luz roja o anaranjada fue con mi flash, la luz azul fue con una lámpara led que tengo en casa.
And since I couldn't find a better way to present them, I decided to take a few pictures, and by the way to help our friend @mtzrene, to maybe have a better idea of what he can get with the lighting schemes, that's why I took these pictures, the truth is that I had some time wanting to use two points of light, but yesterday I decided to use the color gels to give this atmosphere, the red or orange light was with my flash, the blue light was with a led lamp that I have at home.
Tenía que encontrar una forma creativa para incluir mis nuevos cactus en las fotografías, sin olvidarme de esta pequeña que me encanta de modelo, y como estaba decidiendo la cantidad de luz que necesitaba, la puse como sujeto principal de mi imagen, básicamente el problema que tuve con estas fotografías, fue la cantidad de luz de mi flash y la lámpara led, son dos artículos con diferente potencia, así que tuve que bajar la potencia de mi luz flash al mínimo.
I had to find a creative way to include my new cacti in the pictures, without forgetting this little one that I love as a model, and as I was deciding the amount of light I needed, I put her as the main subject of my image, basically the problem I had with these pictures, was the amount of light from my flash and the led lamp, they are two items with different power, so I had to lower the power of my flash light to the minimum.
En esta segunda fotografía, ya había bajado la potencia de mi flash, por eso se ve más equilibrio en la luz.

Como fotógrafo que soy, siempre voy a hacer pequeños cambios para ver si obtengo mejores resultados, la verdad es que trabajar con dos luces de diferente color siempre será un poco complicado, hay que encontrar ese balance para que los dos colores se aprecien, porque si mezclamos colores complementarios es seguro que se anularán entre ellos, aquí cambien mi balance de blancos, y aunque me gusta el resultado, prefiero el anterior, así que continué como venía trabajando.
As a photographer that I am, I will always make small changes to see if I get better results, the truth is that working with two lights of different color will always be a little complicated, you have to find that balance so that the two colors are appreciated, because if we mix complementary colors is sure to cancel each other out, here I change my white balance, and although I like the result, I prefer the previous one, so I continued as I had been working.

Y mi pequeño cactus que seguramente será de mis consentidos, según una app se llama Mammillaria Spinosissima Lem. pero la verdad es que no confío mucho en las apps, creo que será mejor dedicar unos meses al estudio de los géneros de cactus, seguramente me llevará mucho tiempo pero la verdad me estoy divirtiendo bastante.

Incluí también la imagen del sustrato para cactus que fui a comprar, además de un pequeño paquete de semillas, que según eso, contiene 50 semillas de diferentes tipos de cactus, será interesante hacer el experimento y ver cuantos cactus puedo conservar con el tiempo, sé que llevara muchos meses de trabajo o años, pero es algo bueno porque me dará contenido para seguir subiendo a hive, algo como actualizaciones, además que tendré mucho que fotografiar. Por el momento, espero haber ayudado dándoles ideas para iluminar sus fotos, sé que algunos me van a decir: Yo no tengo lámparas de color! Pero me imagino que tienes algún pedazo de celofán, así que no hay excusas.

Cool idea with the light!
Curious to see your sowing results. I saw those cactus mixes around, but never got any not knowing what exactly is there. Check up some youtube videos how to sow them - not as easy as it seems.

No ma... están chingonas. Me gusta ese arreglo de luces que hiciste, y sobre todo en la imagen donde solo aparece el Groot sin la maceta. Veo que aquí también aplicas la regla de los tercios, verdad?. He estado leyendo sobre eso, más cuando vi la iniciativa que realizaron.

Es que las figuras son un muy buen objeto a fotografiar jajaja. Solo compra o consigue de las que te gusten.
Por cierto, ya tomé la foto para participar en la de los tercios, creo que salió un buen resultado aunque batallé un poquillo jajaj, pero ya me puse a practicar.

Thank you very much and I will have to see that movie, I really don't remember having seen it before haha, but surely when I see it more ideas will come out, about the creative process, some friends and I are trying to bring knowledge to the Hispanic community, promoting contests in which they should practice, right now we have a contest about the rule of thirds, they are simple contests designed to motivate the love for photography, this is a documentary part for a future contest, people are curious to learn and we are happy to share the experience.
That's an awesome way to get folks to learn and apply techniques for success. The rule of thirds is a really important element to composition... that most people don't know or use. Focus is another issue that lots of folks don't see to pay enough attention! I wish you all the best in your pursuit to help others grow their passion and talents for photography!
The movie is a pretty campy old-school horror movie. Some of the lighting is with the blue and red like some of your shots. It's definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it!

Muy buena aplicación de variadas técnicas de fotografía, un trabajo digno de admirar quisiera técnicas de fotografía, quisiera tener mas poder de voto para poder expresar cuanto me gusto esta colección. Te pregunto ¿Haz intentado hacer una colección similar pero usando un filtro amarillo en lugar de rojo? ¿O combinando el amarillo con el rojo para dar un toque de atardecer desértico?
Hola gracias por tu comentario, de hecho sí lo he hecho anteriormente, necesito buscar entre todo el archivo en donde las dejé, en realidad esa vez las hice solo por pasar el rato ya que estaba aburrido, y no recuerdo en qué carpeta dejé las fotografías, me pondré a buscarlas para que las veas, y en dado caso de haberlas perdido seguramente haré unas nuevas, gracias por tu visita.
