La profundidad de campo en mis macrofotografías. / Depth of field in my macro photography.

I'm going to be honest, I almost always suck at explaining things, I always read, I understand, but it's a bit difficult for me to convey the information as I would like, in this post I will try to explain the depth of field I used in the following pictures, which as you will understand, is controlled by the focal point, F/1.8-F/22 for example.

In the following photograph, you will see only a small part of the flower in focus, the pistils that were coming out of the flower, I got that with an aperture of F/2.8, and it is something that in a normal photograph would look great, the problem is that when I was doing macro photography, my area of focus is even smaller, millimetric, hence everything else is out of focus, or with the famous bokeh that we seek so much, although when it is so much, it may be that the photograph loses interest.

But so that you can appreciate it better, I cropped the image to make a close-up for you.

Can you see that little part in focus? That's my depth of field, at F/2.8 more light enters the sensor, but also the focused area is smaller so I can make a selective focus and direct the viewer's gaze, but in macro photography it becomes even more extreme, or for example, I should leave the image cropped to be better understood.

In this picture I used an aperture of F/7.1, which closes my aperture, makes less light enter the sensor, but everything comes out sharper, my depth of field is greater, and almost everything is in focus, I forgot to turn up the flash power, so the image came out underexposed, I like pictures like this, but I didn't plan this one.

There is one aperture that I love on my Canon 50mm, and that is F/4.5, I know that at it everything comes out sharp, talking about my area of interest, and yet it creates beautiful bokeh on what I am not interested in, surely you can see with pleasure the transition between the in-focus and out-of-focus area.

In the two previous photographs I repeated the same aperture, so I am sure you are already understanding a little bit of what I want to say, there are areas that interest me and they are in focus, it is a beautiful selective focus.

In these last two pictures I raised my aperture to F/16, so I have a larger area in focus, only that as I am in macro photography there doesn't seem to be much difference but there is, I think I will have to repeat the exercise with normal pictures to appreciate it better, but well, as my lens is more closed, less light enters the sensor, and I solve that by raising my flash to full power.

I noticed a little trepidation in the photograph, and since I like to underexpose a little bit, I raised the shutter speed to get a result more to my liking, which I can work with better in post production.
