Do You For Once Fear For The Future Of Hive?

Hello there guys? In going to be asking a lot of questions that are related so you can just answer them in one comment. When steem started to capitulate as a result of Justin Sun's reprisal on the witness temporarily freezing the Ninja mined stake, I knew the future of steem has been threatened and that was the day I began to power down and honestly I haven't been more right in my whole life. Truth be told steem is no longer steem or let me say steem will no longer be steem because the community that backed it is almost 70% gone.

So now would you say a community holds an irreplaceable value even though they're just holding little stakes howbeit in many numbers?

Needless to say a community is the blockchain, if hive isn't trade, bought, used and sold by a sizable or decent number of people, how does it attain utility and mass adoption? So here my question; would it be just to just discard the interest of this sizable community that's giving hive it's essence? let's be realistic Justin Sun isn't the only reason why steem found itself where it is presently and I guess sometimes greed from many angle was one of the reason why steem never realised any of its futuristic potential.

Another question I'll ask is having learnt some really terrible lessons from steem do you for one day feel that hive might just recently be making some of the mistakes that steem made? I was watching a video today on some stats on hive and I see a whole lot of actions that might even cripple the sustainability of hive. Make no mistake hive is home to me and my Only wish is for it to attain a certain level of longevity without capitulating because of some wrong decisions made at a certain period of time.

I believe a community is a community because the stake held by each and every member gives them an opinion to express concerns. I definitely don't want to be precise. But I'm thinking shouldn't we aim for long-term for the success of hive rather than having present gain and thereby plucking the fruit before it's mature or ripe? I believe hive is young and I'm seeing a whole lot of outrageous actions that makes me fear for its sustainability. I might just be a rambling idiot, but I'm Someone driven by the future, longevity and sustainability.

As a member of hive, true member of the community, is there something hive is doing currently that you feel it contributed to the downfall of steem? And on a more positive side, what makes you optimistic that greed, farming, abuse and milking wouldn't be a problem of hive? Do you think the community still matters?

Hive will survive long term. Too many people dedicated to the concept and tenets that exist here.

Is there a lot taking place that is not in the best interest of the ecosystem long-term? Sure. But there are also people actively working on different projects to make the long term a raging success.

You hit the nail on the head, it all comes down to utility. Where will that come from? We do not know at this point.

We see many projects pushing forward and adding updates. All of it is building more on here which will help to attract people.

With dozens of different projects being worked on, we are going to see some of them take off.

Thank you for the earnest comment I do believe we started out on the right foot but where do we go from here? Do we return to old habits on steem and well doing a whole lot of things amiss? Have we learnt our lessons and most importantly is the community integral in whatever decision is being made?
Like you said many others are committed to good cause and I hope these will quell whatever storm lies ahead.

Just give it time. Things are expanding and growing which is what is needed. None of this is an overnight process nor is it just one person doing it. The projects that are being developed is what will be the pathway to success. As each of them reaches out further and gains a following, the overall will benefit.

We are looking at a truly organic process forward. No single entity or company calling the shots nor the rest waiting around until that entity does something. It falls on all our shoulders.

I agree with you on tho brother. I really think you should learn from the past mistake so as not to let it repeat itself again.

We have to look at the long term goal of what we want hive, our community to be or look like in the nearest future and not just what we stand to gain and the present moment.

Like seriously, a lot is happening on hive that I just pray it will undermine or harm the existence of this blockchain. What majority of the major stake holder don't know or fail to realize is that active users with low or little power also contribute their quota in one way or the others. I just hope what I'm thinking will not happen on hive.

You're definitely right on this though. I definitely feel that it's essential we see this aspect. To many like me, hive has become a home and the thoughts of it not being there in future troubles me.

Sincerely a lot is happening that one just have to look as if it doesn't happen brother. Let's just hope that the few dictators won't lead us astray. We should know that it is not only because Justinsun bought steem that made many users abandoned it but also the fact that their future on the platform is not certain with their investment. You should be wise and prudent, my advice. I never trust this system 100 percent. I hope everything works well

Yes fear is there, why because I have seen the other forks which does out eventually. I know HIVE is different but since I have seen so much in this 3 years that fear is getting real.

Yeah in almost 3 years, the fear will ultimately begin to come alive the more, but I hope all these are just speculative fears

Yes we can hope for the best, and we all should do our bit to make HIVE the best block chain.

Indeed, I have not been so confident with crypto as I have been with hive. I am pretty sure that though hive may suck to $0.1, it would definitely bounce back to $1. This is because, each passing day increases engagement, promotion and development on the hive community.

I believe the confidence sometimes is a factor, at the end of the day we believe life's a gamble and crypto isn't any different. Thanks for the comment

what makes you optimistic that greed, farming, abuse and milking wouldn't be a problem of hive?

It is a problem, just not talked about because the higher ups have been doing it since the Steem ages - the same ones that boycotted HIVE when it got a 'new owner'. They knew they were going to lose their paychecks. Do the math.

It is well known that Hive community is a mirror of the world. So, abuse is an inherent part in the equation. The best way to tackle this problem is by educating the community for the long-term, because if people feel the sense of belonging then we will fight against abuse together.

To achieve the mass adoption we need to be capable of educating and help new people in a daily basis. Ask yourself, how many people did I help or motivate today on this blockchain? How can I continue adding value to this fucking amazing platform?

Cheers!

You're definitely right, there has to be abuse since it's a mirror of the world. But truth is, hive might capitulate if the abuse continues, I hope it doesn't, this place has become more than home.
