Greetings, toy lovers! After hearing about a certain rare Boba Fett action figure being auctioned for hundreds of thousands of dollars, I had to go back and check if I was lucky.
First off, why is it so rare? Well it was a prototype with a launchable rocket from a J-shaped slot located on the jetpack.
Spoiler alert:

Mine isn't the one. The J-slot protoBoba's rocket was thought to be a potential choking hazard so it was re-released with the rocket glued to the jetpack. Mine appears to be the re-release. Bummer...
I got mine from a thrift shop. It says 1979 on his calf. The next two figures were released a year earlier.

*"He doesn't like you" *

Here is Ponda Baba, the alien who apparently doesn't like Luke Skywalker in the cantina scene in episode IV. Produced by Kenner, he was originally called "Walrusman" back in those days. This was a very rare find in someone's garbage. I guess they were cleaning house and getting rid of everything.

Here is another unsavory character from the cantina which was also salvaged from the garbage. Kenner Products only named him "Hammerhead".

He is an Ithorian. A bit more research led me to finding out his actual name, Momaw Nadon, which was released in Galaxy Guide 1: A New Hope in 1989.

While Boba is pretty beat up, the other two are in pretty good condition. I have a vast collection of Star Wars Action figures but mostly from the Revenge of the Sith era. These are some of the only originals I have, and I found them without even looking. I hope to be lucky enough to find more in the future.

I love the Star Wars actions figures. I purchased mine from retailers. I have several of my own that I don't allow anyone to touch. I'm upset with myself that I, who collects untold items, didn't start collecting these when the movie was first released in the U.S.

Thanks for sharing.
