Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un álbum de cromos de la World Wrestling Federation (WWF) de los años 90, en esos años yo era un niño y la lucha libre se había popularizado pues en la televisión local trasmitían todas las semanas los enfrentamientos.
Today I want to share with you a sticker album of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) from the 90's, in those years I was a kid and wrestling had become popular because on local television the matches were broadcasted weekly.
Recuerdo que era todo un show, no se trataba solo de los enfrentamientos, la escena estaba llena de sorpresas, y cada luchador hacia una entrada única.
I remember it was a great show, it wasn't just about the fights, the scene was full of surprises, and each wrestler made a unique entrance.
Era muy emocionante ir a comprar los sobres de los cromos para este álbum, en ese momento la meta era llenarlo para entregarlo y reclamar un premio, pero al pasar los años uno se da cuenta, que los premios eran lo de menor valor, y me arrepiento de los pocos álbumes que logré llenar, y reclamé premios que ya ni existen. Cada álbum representa una etapa de mi niñez, y 20 años después su valor no tiene precio. Poseo una gran cantidad de álbumes que seguramente más adelante compartiré con ustedes, a continuación les muestro y comento este álbum llamado Reyes del Ring
It was very exciting to buy the sticker envelopes for this album, at that time the goal was to fill it to claim a prize, but over the years i realized that the prizes were not worth, and I regret the few albums I filled, and claimed prizes that no longer exist. Each album represents a moment of my childhood, and 20 years later its value is priceless. I own a large number of albums that I will surely share with you later, here I show and comment this album called Kings of the Ring.
En la primera página está Lex Luger, para mi este luchador era invencible, era el mejor de todos, aunque no era mi favorito, yo sólo sabía que cuando Lex Luger salía al ring su victoria era segura. No recuerdo haberlo visto perder, seguramente que sí perdía, es probable que al ser el mayor representante de los Estados Unidos, sus derrotas fueran pocas a fin de mantener esa reputación que Norte América gusta transmitir a través del entretenimiento.
On the first page is Lex Luger, for me this wrestler was invincible, he was the best of all, although he was not my favorite, I just knew that when Lex Luger went out to the ring his victory was certain. I don't remember seeing him lose, surely he did lose, it is likely that being the greatest representative of the United States, his defeats were few in order to maintain that reputation that North America likes to transmit through entertainment.
Sobre Diesel y Adam Bomb no recuerdo mucho, recuerdo que Adam Bomb transmitía una imagen de villano y su apariencia era muy llamativa.
About Diesel and Adam Bomb I don't remember much, I remember that Adam Bomb conveyed a villain image and his appearance was very striking.
En la siguiente página, tenemos a Doink the Clown, quien siempre estaba acompañado por su pequeño amigo Dink, para mi percepción de niño estos luchadores eran villanos, eran burlones y tramposos.
On the next page, we have Doink the Clown, who was always accompanied by his little friend Dink, to my perception as a child these wrestlers were villains, they were mockers and cheaters.
Bret Hit Man Hart estaba entre mis favoritos, no recuerdo porque, tal vez por su actitud y su atuendo, el cual me parecía muy cool.
Bret Hit Man Hart was among my favorites, I don't remember why, maybe because of his attitude and his outfit, which I thought was very cool.
Yokozuna era uno de los personajes más populares, siempre llamó la atención su gordura extrema, también me solía transmitir la idea de ser uno los mejores, o bien inderrotatable, pensaba quien podría ganarle siendo tan gordo. Claro eran sólo pensamientos de niño. Hace algunos años me enteré que este luchador murió hace mucho tiempo.
Yokozuna was one of the most popular characters, his extreme fatness always caught my attention, he also used to transmit me the idea of being one of the best, or unbeatable, I thought who could beat him being so fat. Of course, those were just my childhood thoughts. A few years ago I found out that this wrestler died a long time ago.
Bam Bam Bigelow era otro luchador que capturaba mi atención, lucía muy rebelde y me gustaba su vestimenta negra con llamas de fuego, sus tatuajes también llamaban la atención. Igualmente El Enterrador era uno de mis favoritos, su escena de entrada era tétrica y misteriosa, causaba temor, y siempre estaba acompañado por su manager el cual era muy extraño. Pero este luchador siempre me pareció muy respetable, no era tramposo como muchos de los que tenían rol de villanos.
Bam Bam Bigelow was another wrestler that got my attention, he looked very rebellious and I liked his black clothes with flames, his tattoos also caught my attention. Likewise The Undertaker was one of my favorites, his entrance scene was gloomy and mysterious, it caused fear, and he was always accompanied by his manager which was very strange. But this wrestler always seemed very respectable to me, he wasn't a cheater like many of those who had the role of villains.
Crush era otro de mis favoritos, la verdad no recuerdo por qué, pero me llamaba la atención su apariencia al pintar su rostro, los colores con los que vestía, y la fama que tenía como triturador.
Crush was another of my favorites, I don't really remember why, but I was struck by the way he looked when he painted his face, the colors he wore, and the reputation he had as a crusher.
Y finalmente otro personaje que me resultaba muy interesante era Tatanka, a quien yo le llamaba el indio Tatanka. Era muy llamativo en el ring, y en ocasiones hacia una especie de baile indígena que me hacia reír.
And finally another character that I found very interesting was Tatanka, who I used tocall the Indian Tatanka. He was very flashy in the ring, and sometimes he would do a kind of Indian dance that made me laugh.
La verdad después de los años 90 cuando dejaron de transmitir las batallas por la televisión local le perdí completamente la pista a la WWF, y más nunca me volvió a interesar, hoy sólo queda este álbum de cromos que me recuerda ese momento de mi niñez. Todos estos luchadores está retirados, me llamó la atención como algunos lucen en la actualidad, me sorprendió el antes y el ahora Lex Luger.
The truth is that after the 90's when they stopped broadcasting the wrestling on local television I completely lost track of the WWF, and I was never interested again, today I only have this album of stickers that reminds me of that time in my childhood. All these wrestlers are retired, I was surprised by how some of them look nowadays, I was surprised by the before and now Lex Luger.

Wow que genial, leerte me hizo recordar mucho mi infancia porque la verdad es que llenar los álbumes era una emoción loquísima, yo llenaba muchos, de futbol, Pokémon, había uno de "amor es" jajajajaja lo llenaba también al igual que también coleccionaba los tazos que venían en las chucherías y vendían los álbum de colección y los metía ahí bien lavaditos.
Siii, era muy emocionante, con regularidad compraba de a 3 sobres , recuerdo una vez me compraron una paquete de 100 sobres creo que del album de Power Rangers, podrás imaginar la emoción, todo el día destapando sobres. Sí también recuerdo los tazos que venían en las chucherias,era mágico, yo llegué a tener el album para meter los tazos, creo que en alguna parte deben estar guardados algunos tazos. My parents used to enjoy watching wrestling, they even went to some live shows. I always thought the moves and the stage drama seemed a bit fake and maybe it was all a show, but then there was a couple of time where someone really died during a fight so maybe it's not fake after all!
I remember there was wrestler called Big Daddy who was very famous in UK back in those days, not sure if he ever appeared on Venezeula TV
I think it is not so fake, maybe they decide who will take the victory in order to make a great show and catch the attention of the audience, but they truly hit each other and sometimes they are injured severely. i did not see Big Daddy. Thanks for your comment

Gracias, coleccionar estos albumes era muy emocionante, revisarlos es transportarse al pasado y recordar la emoción que sentía con cada nuevo cromo que conseguía.
que estupenda colección tienes Ismael!...nunca me imagine que fuese tan completa...tenia muchos albunes de niña pero realmente no recuerdo completar ninguno. Lo que hacia era pegar los cromos en los cuadernos.
