I destroyed my first trucks... 🛹

This week has been very intense for me, both because of the stress of the day and the situation that is lived daily at a global level, it is a topic that is discussed daily and I would like to clear my head a little of that by telling you a small part of my life and why today arriving scraped, with a burned foot and the base of the broken trucks, I am achieving one of my frustrated goals of my adolescence.

Esta semana ha sido muy intensa para mi, tanto por el estrés de la jornada como por la situación que se vive diariamente a nivel global, es un tema que se discute diariamente y quisiera despejar mi cabeza un poco de eso relatándoles una pequeña parte de mi vida y como el porque hoy llegando raspado, con el pie quemado y la base de los trucks rota, estoy logrando una de mis metas frustradas de mi adolescencia.

About 9 years ago when I was still a 7th grade high school student, I had the dream of learning and doing skateboard tricks, so I along with two friends, we set out to raise an amount of money to buy and assemble our own boards and go out and get fucked up, it didn't take long to get them, two months later we had enough money to go to the already closed 360 flip shop in Cascada Shopping Center and supply us with everything we needed.

Hace alrededor de 9 años cuando aun era un pollo liceísta de 7mo grado, tenia el sueño de aprender y hacer trucos de skate, por eso yo junto con dos amigos mas, nos propusimos a reunir una cantidad de dinero para comprar y armar nuestras propias tablas y salir a partirnos la madre, no tardamos mucho en conseguirlas, a los dos meses ya teníamos la cantidad suficiente para ir al ya cerrado 360 flip shop del C.C Cascada y suminístranos con todo lo necesario.

I remember that one of my neighbors had already given me a couple of trucks and element brand bearings, so that day I went just to buy the board, the key and a new sandpaper to finally have my first skate, I remember that I ordered the narrowest skate I saw, it was Mini Logo brand which was a little heavier than the others, but still its shape and thinness caught my attention, we mounted our skate in the same store with the help of the cashier, who gave us very good advice.

Recuerdo que uno de mis vecinos me había regalado ya un par de trucks y rodamientos marca element, así que ese día fui solamente a comprar la tabla, la llave y una lija nueva para por fin tener mi primera skate, recuerdo que pedí la skate mas estrecha que vi, era de marca Mini Logo la cual era un poco mas pesada que las demás, pero aun así su forma y delgadez me llamaban mucho la atención, montamos nuestras skate en la misma tienda con ayuda del encargado de la caja, quien nos dio muy buenos consejos.

After putting everything together we left the store trying to keep the balance and learning to ride it, we slept all day in the C.C., we toured all the points, then the following days was the whole city and so until three months later I went to my first skate park in Caricuao, that same day back from the park, I said goodbye to my two friends and I went rolling home as usual since I was the one who lived the farthest away.

Después de armar todo salimos de la tienda intentando mantener el equilibrio e aprendiendo montarla, durmamos todo el día en el C.C, lo recorrimos por todos los puntos, luego a los días continuos fue la ciudad entera y así hasta tres meses después fui a mi primer skate park en Caricuao, ese mismo día de regreso del parque, me despedí de mis dos amigos y yo me fui rodando hacia mi casa como de costumbre ya que era el que más lejos vivía.

On the road there is a downhill that is quite long and steep, but with several entrances to the right for parking vehicles as there are many stores in that part, it was not the first time I went through there, every day I traveled that street, but that day I was out of habit and instead of being aware of my right, I turned to make sure that no car was coming behind me.

En la ruta hay una bajada que es bastante larga y empinada, pero con varias entradas a la derecha para el estacionamiento de vehículos ya que hay bastante comercios en esa parte, no era la primera vez que pasaba por ahí, todos los días recorría esa calle, pero ese día peque por la costumbre y en vez de estar pendiente de mi derecha, voltee para asegurarme que ningún carro venia de tras de mi.

It happened so fast that I only remember fractions of a second, the back bumper of the van crashing into me, suddenly I was already far away on the other side of the street, with everything around me spinning, a huge pain in my right arm, hands, head and leg, it turns out that the van hadn't seen me, but instead of the driver getting out and seeing what happened, he just got out, destroyed my skateboard with the car and drove off.

Paso tan rápido que solo recuerdo fracciones de segundo, el parachoques trasero de la camioneta chocando contra mi, de repente ya estaba bastante lejos al otro lado la calle, con todo a mi alrededor dando vueltas, un dolor inmenso en el brazo derecho las manos, la cabeza y la pierna, resulta que la camioneta no me había visto, pero en vez de bajarse el conductor y ver que sucedió, solo terminó de salir destruyó mi skate con el auto y se dio a la fuga.

I ended up with a broken arm, two fractured ribs, five stitches in my head, lots of bruises and scrapes, and my pinky finger bent backwards. The injuries from that accident healed completely several months later, but the physical pain I felt that day was such a severe mental wound that I wasn't able to balance on a skateboard again for many years.

Terminé con el brazo roto, dos costillas fracturadas, cinco puntos de sutura en la cabeza. muchos hematomas y raspaduras, y el dedo meñique doblado hacia atrás, las heridas de ese accidente sanaron completamente varios meses después, pero el dolor físico que sentí ese día género una herida mental tan severa que no fui capaz de mantener equilibrio en una skate de nuevo por muchos años.

Until a year ago when my dear friend Angel left me his skateboard before leaving the country, then in this phase I took the determination to overcome that fear that had frustrated one of my biggest dreams as a child, now two months after rolling everywhere again, trying to master again the speed of the board in the descents and practicing the ollie in motion, I still find it difficult to do certain things, but I have certainly advanced a lot.

Hasta hace un año cuando mi querido amigo ángel me dejo su patineta antes de irse del país, entonces en esta fase tomé la determinación de superar ese miedo que había frustrado uno de mis más grandes sueños de pequeño, ahora ya a dos meses de estar rodando por todas partes de nuevo, intentando dominar otra vez la velocidad de la tabla en las bajadas y practicando el ollie en movimiento, aun se me dificulta ciertas cosas, pero sin duda he avanzado bastante.

And finally I managed to overcome the street that generated me so much terror, when I was there my legs did not stop shaking, but if I kept very rigid I would lose my balance completely, so I took a deep breath and let myself go with the inertia, before I knew it I was already at the end of the street, this awakened such a strong ecstasy in me, that I went back and returned to throw myself several times even has made that I have not stopped skating in all these last days after finishing my day.

Y por fin lograr superar la calle que me generaba tanto terror, cuando estaba allí las piernas no me dejaban de temblar, pero si me mantenía muy rígido perdería el equilibrio completamente, así que respire profundo y me deje llevar con la inercia, antes de darme cuenta ya estaba en el final de la calle, esto despertó un éxtasis tan fuerte en mi, que me regrese y volví a lanzarme varias veces incluso ha hecho que no he deje de patinar en todos estos últimos días después de terminar mi jornada.

At least until today, when the base of the trucks exploded after making a bad ollie in movement and with it part of the skin of my right foot also went, which has me in pause for this moment and drafting. Luckily Angel left me a few spare parts in case that happened, the problem is that these parts are not the number of the board, so the nuts do not fit with the bases, even so I have someone with whom I hope to change a couple of these parts for the correct number, I hope to get it as soon as possible and recover quickly to skate again.

Al menos hasta hoy, cuando la base de los trucks estalló después de hacer un mal ollie en movimiento y con ella parte de la piel de mi pie derecho también se fue, lo que me tiene en pausa por este momento y redactando. Por suerte ángel me dejo unos cuantos repuestos por si eso sucedía, el problema es que esos repuestos no son del número de la tabla, así que las tuercas no encajan con las bases, aún así tengo a alguien con el que espero cambiar un par de estas piezas por las del número correcto, espero lograr conseguirla lo antes posible y recuperarme rápido para patinar de nuevo.
