As the sun slowly ends its daily crawl,
The waking moon smiles at us,
Darkness calls, birds chirp, another night falls...

Beneath us the grass stretches out for miles on end,
Leaves wave,
With the wind they dance, oh how they bend...

Around the fast growing fire we gather and sit,
Our eyes ahead, ears pricked,
And we listen...

As amidst a background of birds, leaves, and smoke,
Grand mama tells...
Her stories, her mama's stories, and her mama's mama's stories...

In between we say our oohs and ahhs,
We are captivated...
We are entranced...

Swimming in oceans of tales diluted,
Sometimes we are lost,
Sometimes we are found...

But these times we know not which one that takes us,
For the Africa we knew, we already lost...

Written for @theinkwell's Poetry challenge Week 8.
I always wanted to write this one on Africa, and despite running out of time for the fictions part, I managed to do the poetry.
Hope y'all liked it...
