GREET PEOPLE TO SHOW LOVE AND YOU WILL NEVER LIVE TO REGRET IT

Greeting has a great impact on the relationship-building in human lives. Sometimes greeting someone alone gives the individual the feeling of being loved because that person may have not been paid attention to by others in the society he or she finds him or herself. Greeting, always let us know the state of others on a particular day. At least we get to know whether he or she is in great shape or not so we may try to help out. Basically, we greet to create a cordial relationship with others. And we never know who we may encounter someday to solve our problem or offer help to us. I would want to share a story I came up with which I learned something from some time ago with you. Well, it's a story between a young lady and a security man who worked at the same workplace which was a cold store.

There was this security man who worked with a well known cold store over decades. He was the only one who kept all the keys to every door of the workplace because he was the oldest amongst his security colleagues.

On every working day, he would sit at the gate to direct the cars and movements at the gate. He was never paid attention to by the workers by not greeting him to at least show they cared about him. This had been a continuous incident at his workplace and it was really heartbreaking to him.

On one sunny day, a young lady who was seeking for job approached the security man and told him her motive of applying for a job. So she was directed to the receptionist by the security man and later was taken to the manager by the receptionist. After a successful interview with the manager, the young lady was offered a job at the workplace as an attendant to the fridge room where they keep the foodstuffs refrigerated.

The first day at work of young lady began, she was shown around by some workers and built some good relationship with the workers through her greeting habit. After work, she would go greet the security man and ask about his health when going home. In the morning when coming to work she would do the same by greeting him and ask about his health. This continued for some time and the security man started to feel loved and built up a friendly relationship with the young lady. The young lady started to notice some unique love and attention from the security man also so she decided to ask him why he has really been caring to her of late because he never had same love and attention towards the other workers. So he sat her down and told her all his observation at the workplace only to recognize she was the only one who always bothered to greet him and ask about his health. The young lady now got to understand why, so she was also filled up with joy in the heart because at least she made someone feel loved by her.

Unfortunately on one night of the days at work, the workers started to leave for house because they were all closed from work. The security man never saw the young lady pass by so he got worried because he normally knows the routine of the young lady at the workplace. He thought to himself maybe she was kept busy inside so he waited a little bit more for her exit. Time kept ticking without the young lady still showing up. By then everyone had left the workplace. So the security man thought it wise to go check on her. He didn't see her inside, he was really disturbed. His instinct told him to check in the fridge room because he had the keys and also knew the young lady mostly visits the fridge. Luckily, he saw the lady in the fridge looking very weakened by the ice. He took her out and covered her up with his jacket and prepared a hot tea to keep her warm. she gradually gained some strength and told the security man that she was mistakenly locked up by a colleague. But thanks to the security man who saved her life. The security man's eyes were filled with tears because he had also been a hero in someone's life which all started with the habit of greeting.

This story really got me to understand the importance of greeting others to show love. Greeting has a wonderful way of connecting humanity.

I hope this story educates us on at least what we could gain from greeting others. Let's learn to greet people to show love and we will never live to regret it.
