Renovations - Renovaciones

We bought our house in 1990 with my wife, it was destroyed and uninhabitable, the upper floor was raining, and the lower floor was dysfunctional, with a small and outdated kitchen and bathroom. The house required a lot of work and took all our budget and more, so we made the absolutely necessary major structural reforms and resigned ourselves to having high-quality finishes, there simply was no money for that.

The renovations were huge, the original house had only one bathroom downstairs and now it has three, one-half bath downstairs and two upstairs where my desk and bedrooms are located.

The main bathroom was finished with cheap tiles and a medium quality faucet that still lasted a long time, but a renovation of several rooms was necessary and that main bathroom was first on our list.

Everything was thrown down, the pipes were replaced, we acquired high-quality faucets, new recessed LED lights, new flooring, new coverings and a tempered glass cabin, we got rid of the bath and everything was great, more functional, clean and shiny.

We had two bricklayers who did the heavy lifting of removing everything and replacing the pipes, then assembled the structure of the new roof, and I laid the electrical cables, lights, extractor, and electrical outlets, collaborated in the design and placement of the new tiles and flooring.

It was an exhausting and expensive task but it was finally to our liking and within our budget.

Now comes the modernization of the other bathroom and general painting work and new decorative elements on the upper floor, of course, we also changed the bed and other furniture in the bedroom.

Then there will come a period of rest and savings because the plan also includes the modernization of low silver, this is not over yet.

Compramos con mi esposa nuestra casa en el año 1990, estaba destruida e inhabitable, se llovía la planta superior, y la planta inferior era disfuncional, con la cocina y un baño pequeños y anticuados. La casa requirió muchísimo trabajo y se llevó todo nuestro presupuesto y más, así que hicimos las grandes reformas estructurales absolutamente necesarias y resignamos tener acabados de gran calidad, sencillamente no había dinero para eso.

Las reformas fueron enormes, la casa original tenía un solo baño en la planta baja y ahora tiene tres, un medio baño en la planta baja y dos en la planta alta donde se encuentran mi escritorio y los dormitorios.

El baño principal lo terminamos con azulejos baratos y una grifería de mediana calidad que pese a todo duró mucho tiempo, pero era necesaria una renovación de varios ambientes y ese baño principal estaba primero en nuestra lista.

Se tiró todo abajo, se reemplazaron las cañerías, adquirimos grifería de alta calidad, nuevas luces LED empotradas, nuevo piso, nuevos revestimientos y una cabina de vidrio templado, nos deshicimos de la bañera y todo quedó estupendo, más funcional, limpio y reluciente.

Contamos con dos albañiles que hicieron el trabajo pesado de quitar todo y remplazar los caños, luego armaron la estructura del nuevo techo y yo coloqué los cables eléctricos, las luces, el extractor y los toma corriente, colaboré con el diseño y la colocación de los nuevos azulejos y el piso.

Fue una tarea agotadora y costosa pero finalmente quedó a nuestro gusto y dentro de nuestro presupuesto.

Ahora viene la modernización del otro baño y trabajos generales de pintura y nuevos elementos decorativos en la planta alta, por supuesto que también cambiamos la cama y otros muebles del dormitorio.

Luego vendrá un período de descanso y ahorro porque el plan también incluye la modernización de la plata baja, esto no termina todavía.
