The Weekend I Turned a Hair Stylist

The rain went off gauge yesterday and caused floods in parts of Lagos, leaving a lot of commuters stranded.

As at 6:00am on Monday, the appearance of wet cloud announced that it's going to be a very wet Friday. Only that the volume of rain that came down was totally unprecedented. It rained from the early hours through the evening.

Farmers in particular were happy at least, the downpour will cause crops grow faster and better, than the artificial irrigation built by farmers.

On the other end of the city, Lekki to be precise, homes were flooded. That's just to show the extent of rainfall we experienced. Who would have thought that Lagos was going to welcome an August visitor in July? That's how life comes at us. While some are rejoicing the others could be sorrowful. It isn't just a bed of roses. The rendezvous of today may not necessarily last till eternity.

I got my share of the consequences of the heavy downpour. I had thought my table will be cleared before the end of working hours. I couldn't. So, I had to take time away from home today to clear my table for next week comes.

For this, I couldn't help itt with the home chores for the weekend. Missed my weekend routine though. The kids, wifey and television, since there is no #Owanbe. When I got back home, the kids accused of bridging the routine. I had to appeal to them and promised to always attend needs before any other thing.

Before I could speak further, she handed me a comb to help her lose her hair. To allow sleeping dog lie, I conceded and did as she had requested.
Ada has been a daddy's girl and everytime the opportunity comes for her to exhibit that trait, she does that with humour that I won't be able to deny her. When she was younger, I had requested that she cut her hair because if I were not around and has to make her hair, she cries her eyes off. I gladly loosened the hair and we took some shots together to make for my having to leave home on a Saturday. No excuse is worth it, they would tell you.
