Curfew

A friend's been visiting for the last few days. Usually, we would catch up with folk at local establishments. Not this year, thanks to Covid's lockdown level 3. So we made a plan.

Sundowners in the garden, bring and share around the dining room table because the wind was a little nippy.

Then.

8.50pm. Curfew approached and, just like that, everyone was gone.

Until next time, be well

It means that the entire country must be at home by, and stay at home between 9pm and 6am. Also, no alchol sales. At all. And.all bars and pubs are closed. Restaurants, bistros and cafes can only serve food and non-alcoholic drinks.

We had similar rules at the start of the pandemic from March to June last year and numbers came down to single-digit new cases a day.
However, it is a little more relaxed now... so no surprise our numbers are rising, and today is the highest with over 3k new cases... and the healthcare workers are stretched
There are talks of tightening the rules again to bring the numbers down...

    Stay safe Fiona

We will, I think, have restrictions for a while yet. 21k new cases yesterday. our village has 22 cases and it seems the number is dropping. But not in the rest of the country.

    Stay healthy

I actually prefer back yard meet ups like this...We have a fire pit at home and sometimes invite some people over for a BBQ or pizza and hand around the fire chatting. I like the privacy of it, yet the company of having people around.

Yes, this is preferable, but after two days in the kitchen, it's good to have a break from it, and all the cleaning up! 🤭

That said, my major beef about this evening is that it wasn't over when our guests had to go home.

    Talk about a conversation stopper!

Oh yeah, that sucks...The curfew aspect of it. I wonder how long this tomfoolery is going to continue.
