I could not afford the Hive Camper or VW Basecamp but I do have a Tiguan

I have always wanted a VW Camper Van to take the family camping across North America... I searched and searched, read hundreds of reviews on the pros and cons of the Old VW Vans. Mostly cons since they are known for mechanical problems.

Then we looked into camper trailers and realized we would need a big upgrade to our Vehicle for towing Capacity. We looked at Airstreams, pop up trailers, and even some cool retro fibreglass trailers that we could tow with the Tiguan. But they were all very very expensive. More recently we discovered the Hive Camper and VW Basecamp Camper but it would cost us a pretty Bitcoin to buy.

So my son had this idea of trying to use our Tiguan as a camper Van on short fishing trips ... and this is what we did. It’s not big enough for the whole family, but it is good practice for the Hive Camper and Basecamp where we will have room for my wife and I, 2 kids and a puppy.
