Dream Car Volkswagen Touareg R

It's hard to pick you're dream car and I think popular opinion weighs into it alot. If you Ask people the majority will say Lambo I mean that's a big word across the block chain. You never hear someone say a Toyota Camry or a Hyundai. There are many reasons but it all comes down to value, public perception and stature. A lambo is a visual representation of wealth and spending so much on a car shows you have cash to splash.

But I found another car I like and just as expensive as a lambo but a little more less obvious as people don't often associate big price tags with Volkswagons well, not at the same level as a lambo. But strap yourself in we have found the perfect high performance family car that will give parents that added vroom and still be able to get the pram in the car and the kids to school. Who said growing up had to be boring? This is the ultimate Soccer mum car!

The Volkswagen Touareg boasts a stylish interior and trim with all the latest tech and inclusions you can expect from a modern car and more.

With fully customisable interior lighting to accommodate your mood, seat warmers and a back massager as you drive along. The full leather interior is easy to clean and looks great. Pretty stock standard for the Volkswagen range just looks a little more sharper and high res.

The engine itself is a 6.8l 210kw power house, pretty nice for a car this size. Comes with a Li-ion battery sadly reduces the boot space by almost 100L but it's still a relatively great size at 610L.

The change is that this is Volkswagen's first ever plug in Hybrid car. It is also the first to be released in the R badge since the V10 diesel which I wasn't too much of a fan of but still a nice ride.

The 250kw (Max power) engine is powered by a 3 liter V6 engine (petrol) with a twin turbo, once the added Electric engine kicks in this bad boy hits a Max output of 340kw! How's that for getting the kids to Soccer practice on time 🤣

The Lithium battery consists of a 14kWh system mounted below the boot and charges the same way most modern batteries charge through driving with the added benefit of plugging it into a power supply. It will take 2.5hrs to charge it, I wonder if it doubles as a phone charger? Might be good on long trips.

The Electric engine is actually really good, it can reach a top speed of 135kmh and has a range of 47km not that far and it wouldn't do me no good on my drives around the state but for city driving where the majority of people don't drive further than 50kms it's a beaut!

How does it drive? Really smooth I do feel it lacks that umph but with the speeds going from 0 - 100km in 5seconds which for all its inclusions is only 1sec faster than my stock standard no turbo, no lithium battery VE SV6 Sports Wagon. But the interior and fuel economy on the Volkswagen is a lot nicer and it looks alot classier even if my car is starting to become a classic.

The cockpit is a standard Volkswagen innovision cockpit consisting of 12.3 Inch digital display and a 15inch screen for car information and ENTERTAINMENT. My car doesn't have that I had to get a DVD player installed lol

The roof is pretty awesome with a sun roof that extends from the front of the cockpit into the back seat which has come along way since early renditions of sunroofs.

This version I'm sitting in cost $145,000 in AUD. Keeping in mind there are Lambos now that you can pick up for $90,000 a few guys at the gym have picked them up but I don't think their stats are as good as the Volkswagen.

My sister in-law bought this and came round to show us the other day and I fell in love! It's not the perfect car but for a dad with 2 kids this is the perfect blend of performance and family in one car!

My Wagon is a beautiful beast and I'll be putting it away soon to start doing it up as its becoming a classic. So the Volkswagen Touareg R might be my next purchase.

Oh and the interior lights are all touch to turn on! That's pretty cool feature.

Trimming that changes colour. Mine would always probably be red

I'm a huge fan of VW's. Our entire fam has VW vans - we have a Transporter T5. My folks have driven a VW sedan and a VW van for years and always trade them in for newer ones. A Tourag would be cool as. I don't know why people here go for Australian (??) cars, in my opinion European cars are way better made.

Aussie muscle cars are pretty good and good to support local. But European cars tend to be alot more luxurious. This one is epically awesome, might need to borrow it off the sis in-law and take it out for a spin

A Rather comprehensive review, lots of stats too a little confused by 6.8 L then 3 Litre V6? this is what we notice most in our reviews engines differ as do trims so much from country to country.

One of our favourite dubs is the W12 Phaeton 🚀

We currently have a 1991 MK2 Golf GTI in for restoration, we also have in a few weeks the new Golf GTE followed by the Skoda Octavia PHEV with the same powertrain.

Thank you @melbourneswest

Sorry, supposed to say 6.8l per 100kms I'll edit it 😱 I have a 4 yr old and a 9 month old. Got a little distracted. Sincerest apologies.

Thank you, it is a beautiful ride that handles well. For a large car feels small.

For me, VW has always built beautiful vehicles, with precious lines. In my country, Venezuela, acquiring a vehicle is almost impossible for any simple citizen, but this Touareg would be one of my ideal dream cars. Here they have the Passat and Jetta models and they are beautiful too.

That must be quite hard not being able to have cars within a purchasable limit. This machine is a beauty and one that would be great to have.

As I get older the things I need in a car is alot different and this ticks all the right boxes. I love It!

Volkswagen is a car that is often underrated. You have a good dream car considering your family size.

They're very good and also great on fuel economy, they have come along way since the VW Golf.

It is very rare in my country. People prefer Toyota, Lexus and Benz products. Something I observed is that people get cars based on their needs and sometimes according to their family size or the nature of their job.

Someone who travels a lot will have a different spec for cars compared to an office worker who drives from home to work and vice-versa.

Yes that's true, that's why I have always loved my V6 Sports Wagon. I'd love to upgrade to the V8 model but I don't do enough driving for the fuel costs. Open roads they are better and more economical.

That being said my V6 Sports Wagon is at the same level but better than previous years V8s and drinks less

I rarely see this kind of car in the Philippines but when I do, I always say 'wow, a Wolksvagen!' Am I pronouncing it correctly?😅
