There's one thing for sure,one can't go wrong with a Ferrari- from childhood till date, "the Prancing Horse" has held it's place in the hearts of men- which is the ultimate daring sports car.
Ferrari F40- the last unique car that was launched by Enzo Ferrari himself, was introduced in 1987 in celebration of Ferrari's 40th anniversary.

What isn't known is that the F40 came to light because of Porsche 959 although knowing the resilience of Ferrari, it would have still been produced, the real question is when?
On the late 1980s, Porsche had a 911 based Porsche 959 which was the most technological advanced vehicle built for FIA Group B racing with street legal standards.
Recalling the movie, "Ford vs Ferrari" by the legends Christian Bale and Matt Damon; there was a scene that casted Enzo Ferrari who had an unwavering desire to build the ultimate race car to endure the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Porsche 959 was classified a supercar as of its time with a 2.8L, twin turbo inline six delivering 444 horsepower weighing 369 pound-feet.
Mr Enzo Ferrari charged his engineers to "build a car to be the best in the world."
I guess that feat was achievable...

Before Ferrari F40 took its form, Ferrari had already produced 5- 288 GTO Evoluzione- cars to compete in FIA Group B racing which was never entered due to the FIA shutting down.

The journey to creating Ferrari F40 stated by the modification of 288 GTO's 2.85L, twinturbo V-8engine which wasn't far fetched to rear-mid longitudinal 90° V8 engine with a top speed of 201 mph controlled by a 5-speed manual gear.
Ferrari F40 is referred to as the first 200 mph production car with a 2.9L twin turbo longitudinally mounted V8 engine generating 471 horsepower and 426 lb-ft of torque.

A total of 1315 F40s were produced to meet the high demands of customers who wanted to get a hold of it's sheer performance.
It definitely is an outstanding feat to always be on the roll,at the edge of making significant decisions that propels one into the future and take the lead.
The sheer exotic value of the F40 lead Formula 1 champion Nigel Mansell purchase it for a whooping £1 million in 1990. Today, the F40 would be gotten around $1.4 million and $1.7 million.
The true early models of the F40 body work used less paint of 2 litres to aid further reduction of it's weight.

A big yes, when production started at $400000, there was no air-conditioning, no power steering, ABS.

Ferrari still went on to produce a F40 track car called F40 LM, a super rare sports car due to a total number of 10 units. Although in time F40 LM was renamed F40 Competizion that delivered 691 horsepower with topspeed of 228 mph.
